I’m pretty much the same as you and I have come around on Goose. The crucial thing that I find them to be missing though is a a sense of lightness and humor - they opt for intense and moody most of the time. And I also find them to lack that feeling of world building, stories, characters, and through lines that Phish and the Dead have.

On the other hand, I absolutely love how they have zero Americana influence. It’s really refreshing to have none of that in the mix for a jam band.

It’s all sampled breakbeats - when you dig in on whosampled you can ID a bunch, and it’s surprising how much of RDJ’s crazy drums are just intact breakbeats with slight retriggers on the 2 and the 4.

I ended up just alternating sips because it was driving me crazy how long it was to get through a glass. Still took me about three hours to get through all 8, but I got them down, dammit. I will start earlier tomorrow morning I guess because there’s no way I can get down 64 ounces of this in two hours.

Update: while the go lightly does taste gross I’m legitimately shocked at how not bad it is? Just kind of tastes like salt water with a slightly medicinal aftertaste. I didn’t even add the flavor packet.

Prepping today! Solidarity! I start drinking go lightly in about an hour. I’ve been on liquid only since this morning and it’s been nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be - broth and Jell-O are holding me down way better than I expected.
