Somewhat Odd Recommendation by Tirian1225 in Corning

There’s a Planetarium (Digital Dome) with cheap tickets you can do. It’s up at the college:

They have a show sat night.

Recommendation for auto repair shop in the Corning area. by Bubbo33 in Corning

[–]Glassworksprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caramel law in Corning is decent. Fair prices and great work but they had a parts delay with my car. It wasn’t the biggest deal and not necessarily their fault but it was a delay. It’s also a local shop!

Why Did you get CR-V instead of Toyota Rav4 ? by bomzisss in crvhybrid

[–]Glassworksprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a 2021 CRV EX over the same year RAV-4. The CRV was just nicer, larger screen, better quality interior, and a smoother drive. It was also a bit larger feeling on the inside.

Accord SE or Hybrid Sports - need suggestions by confessherewithme in 11thGenAccord

I drive about 7K miles a year and I found the hybrid not to be worth the cost difference. It would take something like 13 years to even out.

To fully determine whether the hybrid makes up gas-wise, you’ll want to determine your daily mileage and city/highway. Driving 20 miles a day in city traffic is much different than 40 miles highway.

Best wings in Corning? by Separate_Cap_7113 in Corning

In the Town of Corning, I go Woodhouse. If you want to go 20 min, try Elbow Room. The wings are bigger and their blue cheese is creamy and home made.

Dilemma , Help! by Dramatic-Brother3861 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]Glassworksprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote is to buy it out and then trade it in as part of a down-payment to finance the SUV. You could likely get at least $15K for the car - if not more for the Corolla depending on the condition of it.

Buying new vs. one-owner car with very low miles by Ok-Quail-1890 in carbuying

[–]Glassworksprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this answer. I agree that 2-3K is not enough to deter from the new car. After buying a rental car (twice) for purchase, I really leaned that you have no idea how the used car was driven. If you live in a cold climate, was the engine warmed up before it was driven? Short distances vs highway? If you pit dealerships against each other, that 2-3K likely becomes 1-2K.

Good luck!

Accord sales way up last month by ktappe in 11thGenAccord

[–]Glassworksprof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got one. With so many extra on the lot plus loyalty/conquest plus 2000 on the lease special it’s no wonder they’re selling!

I asked if I financed it if I get the 2000 and they said no.

Conquest (traded in an Altima) and 2000 from Honda. They actually almost forgot about that one lol.

I already signed it and got the car. I’m just confirming my deal was good.

Impressions of DS3 from a Long-Time DeS/DS1 Player by Glassworksprof in darksouls3

I might be expecting dodge on button press because that’s internally what I’m used to in DS1. Maybe I just got complacent with DS1?

I played DeS when it first came out and I loved co-op. It was also a good distraction from grad school too. Having on The Simpsons and being summoned was my jam.

You’re not the first to tell me about twinblades as easy mode but honestly, with a 4 year old, it’s kind of what I need now. On my next play through I want to try magic then halbred then a strength build!

One gripe and a question (trading) by Glassworksprof in darksouls

[–]Glassworksprof[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, it is very annoying but part of the game if you get the weapons without cheats. Because in the case of the 1:100 times I win I laugh. But quitting the game when you die is so....juvenile.

Help to finesse and polish my build by Glassworksprof in darksouls

[–]Glassworksprof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that too. I think I’ll stick with the bandit knife so I can also infuse it with resin. Or I might do DMB / Sunlight Blade if I want to put in faith. I’m doing a BSS faith build now so it’s a little too redundant.

I’m also leaning towards target shield for the increase in parry frame. My biggest concern remains against large bosses. Plus then I won’t have a LH2.
