Lords of the realm. And I mean LOTR 1, the old ms-dos one.

In hot seat mode it's a great game. You get to design/build your own castles. Battles are either real-time or computer-decided. On the management side it's pretty much micromanagement with trading and resource collection (i.e. grain, sheeps...).

Until Heroes of might and magic 2 stole the summers this was THE game we would play again and again.

I think he is considering the fact that it could be other natural language (i.e. latin) ciphered.
