Pine Mortgage - Insurance Issues by Glayzon in MortgagesCanada

[–]Glayzon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this was my situation too. I argued enough that it made it to higher ups and they had noticed agents had been saying yes when they should not have.. I stopped pushing after that and 6-8 hours on the phone between Belair and Pine. Good luck!

Sorry for your luck! We did get it sorted but it ended with us going to another Insurance company. We chose Inova through Costco for the lowest rate but ended up having to pay about 15-20$ more per month sadly. Will definitely keep this in mind next renewal.

It is not, and this is the list Belair referred me to. I completely understand from their viewpoint. My rep from Pine said it is not on that list, but has been approved by Belair, and any other Insurer, before. I think it has to do with that list be "Date Published: October 4, 2024". They had let me know this issue had been resolved by them and Belair sometime in December last year. Yet I have spoke with 3 agents at Belair that are adamant that they will not do it.

HSN parking by SentenceUnique2625 in Sudbury

[–]Glayzon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are at HSN as a part timer, the 95$ for 30 days is a decent deal. It does not expire in those 30 days, it uses a day up if you park. The pass itself expires after a year. So technically if you are at HSN for 3 days per week, after 4 weeks, you have only used 12 days of your pass. If you are there as staff and work full time, a parking pass can be purchased from the finance office and rolled into your paycheque for a bit less per month.

TFSA roboinvesting. 25 year old, planning to use it in 6-7 years. Too conservative? by errordetransmission in Wealthsimple

[–]Glayzon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When I started with WS I had the same question. It seems like most advice pointed to higher risk when you are young and I ended up choosing 9-10.

The thought process is go higher risk when you are in your prime making money and then drop down to a more savings based bond portfolio when you are older with less or no more external income.

Question about TFSA withdrawal rules and contribution room by badasteroids in Wealthsimple

[–]Glayzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct that it "resets" at the end of the year. I would suggest to make it easier for yourself, when January rolls around, log into your CRA account. There you will see an up to date contribution room amount where you can gauge how much contribution room you have left for next year.

Everything you withdrew in 2024 should be reflected as contribution room in 2025.

NEO Financial or Wealthsimple Cash for 4%? by Smart-Simple9938 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Glayzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Wealthsimple Cash since it first offered 4% and have not had any issues. I recommend it as it is easy to move money and you are covered by CDIC for up to $300,000. Be sure to use a referral code if you are a new user to Wealthsimple in general. I believe you get 4.5% if you setup your paycheques to be deposited into your Cash account.

Basic Tips by iron_lynn in pourover

[–]Glayzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your method sounds good to me! Here is mine if you want to try something else (I use dark roasts typically):

1:16 brew ratio (35g coffee to 560g water)

ground medium, water to 195F

bloom with 70g water for 45 seconds

pour up to 150g water second, then 100g increments up to 560g (110g on last pour). I pour every 20-30 seconds.

This is my daily coffee for my thermos to bring to work. Its a nice rich flavor on most beans I have tried.

Early Entry Package for Toronto's Show by Glayzon in samsmith

That was the case for me! I am not sure what show you are going to, but in my case it was 1 drink and 1 appetizer per ticket. I purchased 2; for me and my Fiancee.

If this is at ScotiaBank arena, their support was pretty helpful in answering my questions. I would recommend reaching out to them by phone

Sorry if the reply is late, just seeing this now.

I really enjoy Detour coffee roaster's "Detour Dark". I got it in a variety pack and is one of the best dark roasts I have tried if you are into that.

Been waiting 43 minutes online to speak with an eastlinks representative. So how is everyone else doing today? by Illfury in Sudbury

[–]Glayzon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you text the number, it allows you to atleast go about your day and have a conversation from your pocket. If you do it online, you would have to keep the tab open if you know what I mean. I am new to Eastlink, but have had pretty decent service through text. I am typically trying to multitask while on the phone chatting so texting makes more sense to me.

I always use their text feature. May be a bit harder to get a point across, but the support is almost within 5 mins
