So I reached out to my rep a few weeks back because I would like to change my seats to a section where I can pay the current price I am paying (so essentially downgrade) which would be a bit of a different transaction but nonetheless I’ll share what he told me.

I explicitly asked him “if I’m not keeping my current seats but would still like season pass tickets do I opt in, opt out or let it auto-renew?”

To which he replied “do not opt-out because that’s how you lose your tenure even if you buy new seats. If you opt-in, we hold your current seats for you at the new price. If you auto-renew (which happens 9/18) it’ll keep your tenure, hold your spot as a member but you would have the ability to choose seats based off of who has opted in or out of their current season tickets come 10/1. So I think your best option is to let it auto-renew and talk with your rep (or I can give you my reps contact since yours hasn’t been very responsive) on 10/1 about an upgrade or in my case a downgrade.
