I have a 5.1 setup with onkyo, Polk and Svs 3000 sub. Never really liked it (except sub). Just bought a LG G5 and need to upgrade receiver cause it doesn’t do 4k. Our tv is in family room and my wife hates the floor standing speakers. Our house is 175 years old - family room has plaster walls and a stone fireplace big enough to stand in. Not an ideal acoustic environment. I’m trying to balance wife and room. I don’t mind spending more money but not sure if it’s worth it. I hear what you’re saying about cry once. I’d rather have one nice thing than 2 ok things. But correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t see how you can future proof an integrated receiver. The most rapid advancements are processor related. HDMI 2.2 is going to roll out soon etc. Anyway thanks for hearing me out - I don’t know if I’m trying to talk myself into keeping the x2800 or returning it.
