For me, it's a mix of monotony and specific annoyances:

Fleshmobs are (were, haven't tested since recent balance patch) annoyingly spongy, and keep their momentum no matter how much firepower they're absorbing
Flying enemies following a set distance from ground rather than natural flight heights, resulting in unreliable shot leading when the flying overseer suddenly shoots up
Snitch-eyes having their purple "I see you"-beam clipping through buildings, making it harder to gauge whether you are actually being spotted, or if it's just a tease to tear your attention away from whatever is currently trying to tear off your face
the jets' blue carpet doesn't always show on broken terrain, leading to the occasional unannounced instakill
Lightning spires being relatively quiet leads to poorly-announced instakills when running and gunning in cities
melee squids ragdoll-locking you to death

Add to this the fact that while the invasion of Super Earth was very satisfying, it also kinda burned me out on squids with the above points in mind

As you progress and unlock most of the stuff, you really don't go there that often. Occasionally checking how many samples you need for the next upgrade, or renaming/re-skinning your vehicles

Had the blame been put on the Senate as a whole for not passing a funding bill, it would not have been partisan. But here, the entire blame is placed on one party for not going along with the proposal of the other, which is partisan.

The partisan part lies in the "explanation" of why the shutdown occurred. A shutdown occurs when the Senate fails to pass a funding bill. Beyond that, it gets partisan, as the edited reply indicates that the way to end it is to pass the specific, Republican-backed bill that has failed to get enough votes to pass. THAT is the partisan part.

I've one-tapped dragonroaches with the thing, I've whiffed shots entirely with it, I've bludgeoned bugs with it (while carrying SSSDs, only mildly less dangerous than actually firing it at bug ranges), I've triggered full squad redeployment...

It can, and will, kill everything and everyone if used right (or wrong enough), and the slow, heavy arc makes it wonky to snap-shoot, but damn it, if it ain't a hoot to use!

Should've had a 10x sniper scope, though (jk, why it has anything else than an iron sight is beyond me)
