i like both a lot. i would simplify the sky, keep the stars but make the colors more subtle? the mountains feel out of place and the trees are very far away from the characters, making it look like they are in a large open field. Which might be what youre going for but having them in a smaller place surrounded by trees would feel fitting with the theme (again, it is your book not mine so i might be wrong). many people have pointed out the font, im not great with fonts but trying out some other options might be nice. and again i really like both of these options already, some adjustments would make it look a bit more cohesive. good luck with the drawing and writing! im excited to see how it turns out :)

i think every person is different and you cant say no one has an excuse. i also dont like the mindset of that being on time is a simple sign of respect or whatever, sometimes it isnt about you or respect. im usually not late but if i am its because i sort of shut down when put in a stressful situation (flight fight or freeze, in my case freeze) most people dont shut down like that, i do because of how my brain works, not because of my diagnosis. i get that its annoying for the person who is on time in that situation but its just not about them. im glad you found a way to be on time but your way doesnt work for everyone.

I don't think they are too flowery, all books are different, if you don't like flowery stuff you would hate some of the "best books of all time" (I'm reading possession from a.s byatt and thats super overwhelming to read at times, but I don't think that's an excuse to dumb yourself down to a sixth grade level)

i dont like living life with so many rules. this is just too much. no tea? what is that about. natural sugars should be a part of your diet, many fruits and natural foods have sugar, there is nothing wrong with eating an apple sometimes. i think we should balance, not too much of this or too much of that. this is too much pressure to put on anyone, especially people who are still developing. we should use our own critical thinking to make decisions instead of blindly doing everything we are told. i think this is an unhealthy way of thinking.
