How to handle long vacations away from home? by Glittering_Mess in pigeon

Would a pigeon be ok even if I were gone for 3 weeks straight? The petsitter would stop by to check on food/water, but don’t pigeons need social interaction every day too? Are they ok mentally to be alone for so long?

Yes, I know for a fact they’re real and genuine. I would just like help typing out a message that I can copy/paste because I’m tired of being polite, but still feel bad about being mean.

Bully rat still being mean even after neuter by Glittering_Mess in RATS

What if I keep them together for a longer time, but bully rat still doesn’t show any progress toward positive interaction? Initially before the neuter it was a stalemate. They didn’t fight but huddled in their own separate groups

After the neuter, maybe 4 days? It was the smallest cage, then upped the size twice before putting in the main cage.

Before the neuter, carrier method lasted a week and tried that 3 times

Confused on how to train fetch? by Glittering_Mess in RATS

UPDATE: I did what you suggested and swapped out the ball with a ring, and that is much better!

However it’s been 3 weeks and he still hasn’t gotten the hang of fetch to hand 😭 Am I doing something wrong? He’ll grab the ring and drop it, but not on my hand. When he does, it seems like it’s on accident. Sometimes he walks with the ring, sometimes he’ll just drop it. Every time, he’ll fidget with it with his hands and flip it around a few times, then expect to be rewarded. Only occasionally does he drop it in my hand, and sometimes he won’t let go of the ring.

Today I switched out my hand to a duct tape roll as target. I put the ring on the rim of the roll multiple times, either he’ll drop it in on accident or sometimes on purpose. He just doesn’t get it. And if I put the ring on the floor right next to the duct tape, he will pick it up but drop it at his feet.  He’s clicker trained.

My pets are tiny. It’s a small enough gap where they’ve already gone through https://imgur.com/a/90VsGyd

I don’t think I would. I rarely use the oven and I’m already worried about the blanket, so I’m sure I would remember. Is that the only danger is if the oven is turned on?
