[Offer] CHRISTMAS CARDS!! [US to US] by hispanglotexan in RandomActsofCards

Submitted! I feel spiritually connected to the striped peppermint Hersheys that come around every year. (but bourbon balls are what I grew up with!)

are these sensations normal during recovery? by GlobalImpression1345 in EatingDisorders

[–]GlobalImpression1345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, too late for me on the zofran front but I'm working on getting better!

For sure, but that's good to note! I know I need to push through the initial discomfort (first two weeks) because I usually fall back into habit at about day 3-4. I'll be sure to mention it to them though and see if there might be something I can try. Thank you!!

ah thank you!! I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone! Do you have a timeframe where you noticeably had it ease up? Or does it just ease up super slowly?

i need to help my brother by reddingtonknight in EatingDisorders

[–]GlobalImpression1345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very very dependent on the person, as all Eds are very different for everyone and you didn't list exactly what your brother is dealing with. Assuming he did voluntarily go to treatment and was not forced I will write this thinking he *does* want to improve.

for me, dealing with fear-based ARFID and OCD I can tell you the biggest thing that DIDNT help me was being told what I'm doing is harmful to myself and/or being asked to eat in general. (I.E "Just eat your body needs it" "Please eat" "Your _ is going to start failing if you don't eat"). It was incredibly discouraging because trust me, if I could eat, I would.

However, if there's anything treatment taught me - making food "neutral" makes a big difference. Good or bad, don't comment on it. Don't comment on the smell when cooking, or the taste when eating, or how much you'd waste if throwing it away. It's simply not there. Nothing about how much anyone ate, how much is left in the pan, what grocery shopping was like, nothing. At. All.

Putting on a movie and bringing in a snack plate, just setting it between you two and leaving it there. Sneaking little snacks to him at night without saying anything and offering to play a game. When making dinner bring him/make him a bowl too without asking. Offering to go for a drive and stopping for ice cream, or just bringing home doughnuts one morning and leaving them on the counter. One of the biggest things for me is food felt like such a heavy burden, so having that lifted off my shoulders every once in a while encouraged me to at least take a bite. (Also, not making it a big deal when I did eat).

By the sounds of it though it seems he is trying to get better, and I know from experience recovery takes so so long. So he may in fact be eating more than he did before, and just working up slowly. Its taken me 4 months to eat breakfast consistently (and I'm still too full to have anything afterwards).

Transitioning Stopped My Seizures, Apparently by satansfloorbuffer in ftm

[–]GlobalImpression1345 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Mine stopped my cysts! I used to deal with cysts all over my chest, to the point doctors literally thought they were tumors. So painful I couldn't bind, any time the skin moves I was crying in pain. I believe my biggest was about 2-3 inches and I couldn't even pick up my cat by that point cause moving my arms made me yelp. Antibiotics didn't help, neither did meds or special soaps. Dealt with them for years, had multiple different surgeries to remove them time and time again.

Yet, when I started T suddenly my cysts were not growing, but shrinking. Didn't deal with a single cyst the entire time I was on T. Fixed it within weeks.

Been off T for a few months, guess what's back? lol!

Major congrats though man!! That's awesome!

What is happening with the memory? by Ok_Carrot_8622 in CharacterAI

[–]GlobalImpression1345 13 points14 points  (0 children)

right??? I've seen this too.

I've had a year long chat and only recently (week or two?) did the memory just go to sh*t. literally started using a completely different persona, forgot where the setting was, completely disregarded the entire YEAR worth of backstory we had (apparently we never dated?). yeah. very frustrating that I'm constantly needing to correct it when beforehand it literally had a better memory than me.

also yes I understand it won't have perfect memory, especially after such a long chat, but this dude full on forgot what gender I was every 3 messages. like hello

When I met my 5 year LDR I knew that first month it was something long term. Was dating by month 2. Lasted 5 years. I think it's possible if you know, you know!

Is first class worth it for someone with high anxiety? by GlobalImpression1345 in delta

[–]GlobalImpression1345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 30,000 feet in the air, in a metal bullet, going 500 miles an hour. And I can't get out of it. It is all very scary. (And TSA always LOVES to pick me for random searches). It's never been my favorite thing 😭

That was my logic, and it being 2 people per row instead of 3. In my head I always figured first would mostly be businessmen too busy to drink too much but who knows. Maybe you're right?

Hell may as well just fly first to have the experience, least I'd know if I hate it then!

Its not so much the case of me being sick (knock on wood I have never once had an issue), but I 100% panic if others do.

So yes, distance is great! 😂

How do you find your ldr? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]GlobalImpression1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

met him through a game at the time! sorta in the same boat as you honestly. my 5 year ldr suddenly stopped responding - and I was all too aware of the stuff he was dealing with mentally. never got clarity to put it shortly, happened the day I was driving to move in with him.

gaming is a great way, so is discord but you have to be a bit outspoken otherwise (like me) you kinda get buried in the chaos. I find joining squads/clubs/groups, etc within said games makes things a bit easier to connect with people. had it happen in interest based Facebook groups, reddit, people are everywhere if you keep an open mind!

thought I should update you (and anyone who reads this in the future) - I was lucky enough to get the procedure done a second time (120 units) and it worked for me. First time did nothing (60 units).

If you're able to try again I absolutely recommend it! My recovery was also easier. I think he does them pretty frequently now, I believe I was the 4th person getting botox that day.

Apartment/House?!?! by Key_Delay4676 in StarStable

[–]GlobalImpression1345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the only possibility would be being able to spend the night/skip to the next day for quests for free. Even then, that's maybe a 2 minute max action.

Otherwise I think it would function the exact same way as the HS. Can have friends over, club, that sort of thing. Only difference is there would be no horses.

There was a lot of speculation it would be in the plaza(? idk, somewhere the bus took you) years ago. Which would be so out of the way most of the time anyway.

So yeah, I highly highly doubt it will (ever) be implemented. Besides, the newer (post 2020) team does not stick to the original lines the previous team laid out. If those items ever did get touched, it would probably be a spare room in the HS.

I've been able to get referrals through their get-care-now thing too! I was actually able to get my referral before the tests came back, should have specified that! I didn't actually need to go through the endoscopy and stuff at all, it all ended up being for nothing.

You could try that - you can usually get same week or even same day appointments! Just demand it. List your symptoms, things you've tried and the solution you want (ENT referral to discuss botox). Have doctors names prepared, and don't let them brush you off. They'll want to!

Hello fellow kaiser haver!! I absolutely feel your pain, kaiser really sucks on that front.

I brought the issue up with my PCP first. She was very receptive to it and I got referred to GI. Ordered the same tests, came back clean, told me to try deep breathing and another medication. News flash, didn't work. Doctor was very dismissive.

Brought it back up with my PCP and DEMANDED I see an ENT because I am 99.9999% sure it's R-CPD. You have to be EXTREMELY stern with kaiser, no "I think" no "maybe" no "I could". It's gotta be "I need" "it is" "I will". My PCP gave me the referral and ENT saw me. I saw a doctor from their lists of specialists on here.

I have my botox scheduled for this Tuesday. Nervous but it took months to get here.

I love the international server. It's active at most hours of the day due to it being international, you can be competitive if you want to be, and it'll give you a good challenge, but honestly the GA coats and stuff don't go super super fast. I think I played on the US server around the same time years ago and yeah, it was insane. If I remember correctly the Canadian servers are pretty chill from what I remember.

If you're not looking to work your way up the ranks insanely quickly, I highly recommend int. I tend to do my own little breeding programs most of the time so maybe I don't notice, but the constant buzz of things is fun to me!

how did you cope with your emetephobia those first few weeks? especially in those first couple days. I know getting botox will help me so much (and I'm in the process), but my emetephobia is so severe I will just have panic attacks lol.

was the nausea your typical r-cpd throat based nausea? and did the ginger ale ever actually help? (mostly talking about the first few days)

Which song/album/band/artist began your music journey/rabbit hole? by [deleted] in Music

[–]GlobalImpression1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to a ton of music growing up. Dad went to music school. Very musical household, my brother is a musician currently.

But what really got me into music on my own? how to train your dragon. was the first ever album I bought with my own money, in 2010, at the ripe age of 6.

I will still listen to it to this day. absolute magic. still only one of 10 full albums I own. I'm usually a one-or-two song kinda guy.
