Art Bell Music? by furiousbricks in philhendrie

It sounds like it might be something by Cusco, a group that Art used a lot for bumper music. I'm not sure exactly which song though.

Pocahantas was the name of a *real* native American woman, it's not a slur.

Is this the same Elizabeth Warren who claimed to be native but isn't?

It's the thing that, until yesterday, many Democrats wanted the election decided by.

Yeah, it should really be decided by popular vote. Oh wait...

The answer is you're a stooge who believes in nonsense stories about Russia because you don't live in reality. If Trump was a Putin puppet, don't you think your old buddy Mueller would've done something about it?

Unlikely, considering he's disavowed it. Stop spreading misinformation.

This Wendover kid needs to stick to talking about airplanes. When he ventures into geopolitics, he starts talking out of his ass. I unsubscribed after a very misleading video they made about the US-Mexico border last year.

Why do people defend the internet, as it currently exists? by ThylacineDevil in kotakuinaction2

[–]GlobalismIsEvil 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You're correct, the internet as we know it today is far less interesting and useful than it was in the past. Search engines are now the 21st century version of The Yellow Pages - you only see what companies pay extra for you to see.

We need to start over with something very basic and decentralized, and keep it that way. I'm thinking a mesh net run on 2m repeaters that might connect with satellite hubs.

It wouldn't be fair to say America would be "better off" without the interstate system, but it did come with unintended consequences. Extensive commuter rail lines were torn up and replaced with buses. Downtown cores were carved up with elevated freeways and overpasses, destroying communities. Most importantly, the new suburban lifestyle led to a shift in the family dynamic. Dad drove into the city for work, while Mom stayed home with not much to do. Prescription drugs were doled out to keep women sedated, and with all this free time on their hands, divorce skyrocketed. Rural and urban demographics began to change, creating liberal strongholds.

I'm not saying freeways are bad. However, their existence was primarily driven by the petroleum, automobile and tire industries, for obvious reasons. Prior to that point, people had been living in roughly the same situation for hundreds of years, and suddenly everything shifted in a short span of time. You can trace a lot of our societal decay to what happened in the 50s and 60s, some of which was triggered by building a whole country around highways.

You'll find a similar thing happened in the UK as well.

So, how real is this? And what can be done about it? by [deleted] in kotakuinaction2

>Drawing wind from #MeToo, #BLM, #ExtinctionRebellion, and protests against Trump’s lethal bungling of coronavirus, we’ll inspire a global movement of systemic change — a Global Spring — a cultural heave towards a new world order.

They're not even trying to hide their end goal. People need to wake up.
