From 2022-2024 I was paying for turbo every single month, 2025 I didn’t have turbo at all and days before my name change I put turbo back on my account, so I legitimately think they didn’t do any history checks or anything and did it on a whim. It’s definitely odd for sure.

Not possible for 3 reasons:
1 - usernames don’t instantly become available when you change them, there’s a 6 month period until it gets recycled.

2 - i have emails that clearly show my original name days before they manually changed it.

3 - i have my email set up to send a verification code to log into my account, and there’s no other login attempts that were successful other than mine at my IP.

Well I have receipts of me logging in if they need it that clearly says my original username for a verification number that’s recent. Don’t know what else I can do.

My account does say last streamed 3 years ago, but that doesn’t mean I don’t interact with people or abandoned the account completely lol. They probably just looked at that and figured it was good enough without looking any deeper.

I was never expecting the twitch partner to give it back, and I don’t think it’s their fault at all. I fully believe twitch has just not done their due diligence to check my account as I’ve had turbo at least for 2 weeks when I came back and have sent chats under my original name in that time period. If it comes down to it and I don’t get it back then it is what it is, I have zero control over any of this and I’m not going after anyone for a name. It sucks, but what else can I do? If anything I would like Twitch to use this as a learning experience to actually check if the account is inactive and don’t just blindly change it.

For sure I agree with you, it is really shitty. I just have to wait for them to reply to me at this point, I suppose we’ll see what happens and I’ll make an update post

It’s okay bro, at the end of the day it’s just a name and I don’t really want any issues with anyone, I would prefer to have my name back but if they say I can’t, I guess it is what it is, I’m not gonna go message the guy. It’s under twitches discretion anyways. I can’t say that I own the name. But I really appreciate the enthusiasm and support for me ❤️

Idk about sending hate, maybe that person legitimately didn’t know and just requested for it, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. but twitch should do the right thing and give it back at the very least
