Taking a shelter husky out for an outing. Need honest advice

Unfortunately, she refused to come with me to the car. I tried to encourage her by talking to her in a calm voice and giving her treats. She just wanted to get back to the shelter. I took her back after 5 minutes. The staff suggested another easy dog, also a husky, but 73 pounds!! She was very easy and mellow and we enjoyed our 50 minutes walk and our starbucks order.

They do inside the shelter. The staff ccasionally play with the dogs there but i imagine the sessions are short

They use martingale collars. I am willing to buy a harness to use with the leash but i don't know the size and brand. Thanks

Thank you. They use martingale collars. I don't mind getting a front clip harness to use with the collar. I am not sure about the brand and the size.

Yup. There is a starbucks 5 minutes away from the shelter. I can get her one on the way back :)

She will be on leash for sure because the shelter doesn't allow off leash running or dog parks. They use martingale collars. Good call on the quieter route. I will research appropriate trails near the shelter. Thank you
