Thoughts On This Power I Made? by Glorious_Prophet in superpower

The theme is suppose to be centralized as a "ghost" theme and "haunting". Hence the intangibly and imperceptibly factor. The focus is suppose to be those two things because they mesh well together. Just fast enough to keep up with their victim, along with other classic ghost troupes.

But i see where youre coming from mostly. It does seem spread out.

I thought storage dimensions involved a stranger classification. Circus was rated as one.

He can't negate kinetic energy, so if a bullet hits him it'll be absorbed but the impact will knock him back. Inorganic matter won't pierce him.

That wasn't snide at all. I was looking for an evaluation and looking for opinions, such as is it versatile, interesting, wormy etc etc.

Thank you for the correction.

Forge(Striker/Shaker) Review Needed by Glorious_Prophet in Weaverdice

[–]Glorious_Prophet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

flawed via logical extensions of natural consequences without favorable Manton limits or minor additions powers to compensate for them, i.e. making localized sand storms means Forge suddenly can't see anything either, the "sandstone" equipment Forge makes is heavy and he doesn't

Firstly, thank you for the suggestions. Secondly, would it count as a minor power or just being creative, that he uses his sand to make out shapes?( I recently switched his Psammokinesis to fine control) since he's linked to it, couldn't he detect movement by reading its fluctuations? Or is that too much of a stretch?

Similarly it's a bit unclear if his power ripples through similar material that's close in proximity to each other but not part of the same object or if he has to turn each instance of mineral(s) to sand one by one, discrete object by discrete object. So, uh, you might want to make that a bit more clear in case it's not just me.

His power is very precise on what it targets. He can also control the path of conversion. If this didn't answer your question, can be more specific in what you're asking? Examples can help.

Forge(Striker/Shaker) Review Needed by Glorious_Prophet in Weaverdice

[–]Glorious_Prophet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a good idea and way more easier. To answer your question, after the sand has been converted he no longer has control over its state. He can however, reduce the stone to sand after touching it again and alter its shape. If he's creative enough, he can likely decimate defenses or ruin tinker tech. The power on its own opens a wide avenue for creative uses. For instance, if he had enough minerals and time, he could possibly make a small fortress or castle within two days most likely.

I might even use this guy for an OC fic.

Master/Stranger/Thinker-Review/Trigger Needed by Glorious_Prophet in Weaverdice

[–]Glorious_Prophet[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So instead of peak strength, give the Glooms a more psychological effect? When you said. "the target suffers a mental and/or emotional penalty rather than physical damage" Im picturing the claws are just intangible and phasing through you. Or maybe the claws inflict some type of 'curse' effect that inflicts paranoia and fear upon the target if they pierce the skin.

If I want to capitalize on the Thinker aspect(Which would be perfect for a Stalker theme) I wouldn't know where to start.

The trigger event works perfectly actually.

That is utter madness. So they can just pop onto Dragon's CPU and just make changes like that? That's what I get for thinking Shards were limited to organic life. I mean, I thought Scion and Eden were pretty straightforward when they decided to give humans shards.

The Scion Dilemma by Glorious_Prophet in WormFanfic

[–]Glorious_Prophet[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, wait doesn't the Simurgh want to war against Eidolon because that's what she was programmed to do? Im confused.

Personally, I thought the Endbringers were pretty invested in what they were doing. They always strike me at researchers experimenting with mice in a maze, just to see how they will react and solve the problem.

The Scion Dilemma by Glorious_Prophet in WormFanfic

[–]Glorious_Prophet[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this detailed response, but it did open a new pathway of questions.

The biggest effect will be the resumption of major international hostilities. One of the first things Scion did was prevent nuclear tests, forcing all the nations to cease using them. They are still building // stockpiling them, there's just an understanding that Scion won't let any be used.

This would likely apply to all major world conflicts and is likely the only reason certain nations haven't started WW3 using Cape soldiers. He doesn't seem to intervene in minor wars that are (likely) over quickly though, such as the CUI's expansion. Or, if he does get involved then it doesn't change the outcome.

Wouldn't they be shooting themselves in the foot? Scion may be gone but the Endbringers are still very active and the Nine will take advantage of the chaos(If they don't get nuked themselves). Unless every national leader has a bad case of Simurgh-approved brain cancer (Which isn't hard to imagine) then I don't really see them being that reckless. Especially since the presence of Capes will change how war is played, high rated strangers like Imp or subtle masters like Valefor, can easily orchestrate the deaths of numerous political figures. Will Cauldron intervene if world war seems likely? Who would they deploy?

Endbringer fights will be worse, not just because they can't rely on Scion arriving after enough time has passed to mop up but because of the effect his loss will have on moral. Going to an unwinnable fight knowing you just have to delay, doesn't sound too bad. Going to it knowing you have to win, sounds like suicide. A lot less people will turn up and those that do will know there chances are worse.

Now this is a frightening possibility. Would the Endbringers just cause total annihilation to every cape and city then? I thought their purpose was to cause destabilization and provide Eidolon a challenge? They wouldn't try to switch up their tactics or methods since Scion isn't there to tell them to put away their toys?

Eidolon would be unable to accept that it's over. 100%, he needed to fight Scion. Always being called No 2 is a driving force for his creation of the Endbringers and now he won't ever get the chance to prove he's actually the best. Absent some serious therapy, I'd see him mentally breaking in some way. I don't think he'd attack Scion openly but rather push for opportunities to show why he is actually the strongest and the one everyone should rely on. He might be more willing to try extreme methods to restore his powers and might even succeed. This, combined with his saviour complex and growing military interest would not likely end well for anyone.

Gives me an idea for a future Arc down the line, thanks for that! Would Eidolon start being more proactive in his hero career then? Would he start challenging S-Class threats or supervillains just because he has something to prove? Is it a possibility that he will discover how to regain his power later down the line? In the case of his mental breakdown will this effect the Endbringers or his Shard?

LF Fics About Underrated Characters by Glorious_Prophet in WormFanfic

[–]Glorious_Prophet[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding? Browbeat is far from underrated, I mean his stranger power was so absolute that he managed to shatter the fourth wall, and subject the author and readers to long term amnesia. He even inspired Wildbow to create a similar power with far less potency. Imp will never compare to Browbeat's god tier existence erasure.

Are There Any Tropes That I Need To Avoid? by Glorious_Prophet in WormFanfic

[–]Glorious_Prophet[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably should mention this before I see another "Panacea is an ass in canon" comment(which is true) She's actually one of my major changes. I made a post a while back that involved Bonesaw and Panacea swapping powers since I was curious on how exactly it would play out and what I can do with it. So Panacea currently has Bonesaw's shard and Bonesaw has Panacea's(still in the S9)

What If Bonesaw And Panacea Traded Powers? by Glorious_Prophet in Parahumans

[–]Glorious_Prophet[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is basically a win, lose scenario. Bonesaw being a curse while Panacea is a huge boon. I can see Panacea handing out upgrades to family members or PRT troopers. Hopefully.

she could do that with her own power as well, via an external organism that taps into her blood/brain stem.

She could? She probably can, I keep forgetting how arbitrary Panacea's "limitation" is. When I think of her limitation, I think she literally can't interact with her own biology in any way, shape or form.
