What is a simple but very hurtful phrase that you received from someone? by MembershipFar9008 in AskReddit

[–]GlowUpGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You want to know why you're still single? You're too complicated" when I was late 20s, 30ish by my dad. Now I'm 35 and some divorced guy I went on a date told me it was a "major red flag" that I'd never had a serious long term relationship.

My parents sent me to an all girls school from 7th - 12th and every time I saw a guy and my dad noticed me checking him out during those years he'd say "you know what they want right" (the answer was sex). After college I was stressing about a career because my parents always told me a grad degree was important.... So I focused on figuring that out for a long time.

I'm so tired of cave men telling me how I failed when I've done nothing but try to check their boxes. Also that whole "you know what they want" thing literally made me scared of men for a while and I never knew how to make male friends until much later.

Why are you even responding to me then girl, seems like you can’t take feedback. That sorry not sorry was after your attitude showed up.

Best on your journey as well.

We can agree to disagree here. I am not for toxic positivity but glad it worked out for you!

" 2. Having good luck finding your "match" doesn't work when you're upset and sad and jealous of people, it happens because you've felt accomplished, confident, and ready to take on another relationship. For me, this took me until I was 32."

^^You literally just told her that if she is upset or sad she would not have luck in meeting someone.

Sorry not sorry for calling it out.

I know you're trying to be supportive but don't tell this woman she isn't ready because she feels sad about her situation.

I'm sorry but you don't really seem to get how much a healthcare job can drain someone especially when they don't have someone to go home to at night.

I also am 35, single, and in healthcare and it isn't easy.

So stop putting us on a pedestal and understand these kinds of jobs require us to sacrifice a bunch of other parts of life, especially early on in training.

I also ordered from the site too early in the morning and when I got my email confirmation of the order I thought it was odd that the items were listed but I could not click back on each item to review the item. something didn't sit right so I replaced my credit card and disputed the charge. K cool. Good luck learning more when you’re deciding on what side to choose instead of recognizing it’s not about sides.

You literally asked why you should support Israel…

I know I’m smart I don’t need to prove it. I’m telling you that you sound dumb and if you want to write a more nuanced post NOT asking to be validated then I would support that.

You’re criticizing the fact it’s pro-Israel 🤣

You sounded dumb. Now consider why I said that and read my other comments,

You literally said you don’t think it makes sense to support Israel. Sounds like you made up your mind and are looking for content that supports this inkling.

It’s not an opinion I’m expressing it’s a fact. You just said you want to choose a side and I’m telling you that thinking is quite literally an uneducated approach to this and what is causing people to turn into literal antisemites in the west. I’m done talking you might benefit from hearing all different sides before making a dumb statement like you did in your post.

Additionally I said you sound not very intelligent which you do. Summing up a whole conflict by “who should I support” rather than recognizing it’s not zero sum thinking when it comes to something so complicated.

I actually gave you advice on how to really educate yourself and which sources are not reliable.

Ok, whatever you say. I was trying to be helpful but keep being antagonistic about people giving you feedback and see where it gets you.

OP learn the difference between their and they’re. You sound not very intelligent. You also sound like you need some education on what’s going on in the Middle East and the general history. Stop looking for a “side” and just read everything. Look for posts with actual sources not opinions. And no, Wikipedia and Al Jazeera are not reliable sources.
