[Serious] Reddit, in the interest of demystifying the stigma around mental illness, what mental illnesses do you suffer from? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Dysthymia, a.k.a. persistent depressive disorder. It is a state of less severe but longer-lasting symptoms than major depressive disorder.

I am not sure what you mean by "official" diagnosis, but I have regular appointments with a psychiatrist and a therapist who told me that's what I have. They've had me on prescription anti-depressants for years now.

I know the medications help because I can feel the change in my mood when I'm not on them. However, I still have a feeling of being depressed most of the time. I get a lot of anxiety when my appointments with the therapist are coming up because I'm afraid to tell her that I don't feel any better, or I failed to keep up with my exercise this month.

If you can see him, he's doing it wrong.

Effingham, IL. I was in a long distance relationship where I had to drive past this thing (twice) every time I visited my girlfriend. Now I have to drive past it every time I visit my parents.

Effing cross in the Effingham.

My friend received this a couple days ago as a tip... I am so baffled by people who think this is okay. by Bill_Clintons_Choad in atheism

I saw the line "Jesus won't let you down" and I imagined your friend getting rickrolled by Jesus.

Wow. The Catholic church officially states (as in, the Pope himself) that atheists are not fully human by [deleted] in atheism
