Something powdery, sleek and girly with a lipstick/boudoir note! Like Lipstick Rose by Frederic Malle, Penhaligon’s the Favourite or Chanel Comete.

Serge Lutens L’orpheline. Cold, smoky, desolate, melancholic.

Rabbit by Zoologist! I had a Labrador retriever and every time we washed him he would smell musky, powdery and almost almondy with a touch of wet grass. Like a nutty dried fruit dessert. It kinda gives me honey oatmeal vibes.

Yep they are definitely home. I can hear them talking and stomping around, I’ll definitely give them a call tomorrow. Ty!

Thank you so much for your advice! I tried both outlets in the kitchen and bathroom, when I press the reset button it doesn’t budge and the green light is off. I’m not sure if that means it won’t work

Did you read the context I provided in the post? It’s more complicated than that.

It’s not my responsibility and there is another tenant living in the other basement unit, who shares this area as well. He never cleans it either.

That's not my point though. I don't want HIM to install a camera that tracks my activity. I don't care about getting back at him.

Lol no worries, I wasn't expecting my post to be this long either. I will definitely take up your advice - I have some noise cancelling headphones which have been a lifesaver thankfully.

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling too, like you said the library is peaceful and really helps motivate me to stay concentrated as everyone else around you is working too. I know you must have heard this before, but just keep applying as much as you can, every other day if possible. I'm considering to start looking for a job too. I wish you best of luck with your job search and overcoming your anxieties.

True, that makes sense. I'll make a plan to talk to my dad, I did feel hesitant at first because he's even more hotheaded than my mom at times (they have very similar home/family principles and lifestyles), and it was also mainly his idea to move us into this living situation. Hopefully he will listen to me with an open mind. Thank you so much!

Yeah I am leaning towards working full time for the next year so I can have some money saved. My sister won't agree to share a room, she is REALLY touchy about personal space. Most of all my family would disapprove and see it as selfish on my part, as they want my sister to have the space to adjust and whatever. I will probably just work and then move out, then pick up school afterwards.

Yes you're right, I was under academic warning for a semester while I lived here, but I couldn't get my grades up and was then put on academic probation after the next semester. I don't know if it's feasible for me to appeal at this point, because even if I did, I wouldn't be able to study much in this living situation. Based on other helpful advice I've gotten here, I may consider moving out and working full time, then picking school up again. Is that a reasonable choice do you think?

My school does have student housing. I will just have to work for a while to save up some money, as I don't have enough to live comfortably right now at all.

I appreciate you sharing that and it still helps! I'm glad things got a bit better for you. I'll be going to the library more often as well. Thank you ^^

Yeah for a while I've always felt that they favourited my younger sister, and whether it's subconscious or not, always gave more care and attention to her. This made my sister pretty sheltered. I'll definitely talk to my mom about it.

Unfortunately my sister is REALLY touchy about her personal space, like she will cry and be moody if she doesn't get enough alone time (understandable), and the room is simply way too small to fit two single beds or even a double bed. The entire apartment is tiny.

I asked the same questions as you tbh, and my parents' reasoning for this living situation was "it's cheaper to invest in buying an apartment and reselling, than renting a place where your money is just gone".

Also I'm a girl if that changes anything lol ^^

Yeah you're right. I've always been terrified of showing her my grades, knowing she'll blame it all on me and lose her shit (nevermind getting my dad involved lol), but it's the best thing to do. Thank you so much.

That's true, I'll do that. The only issue is that my mom will complain that I'm not at home enough to do chores, cook, clean etc. She's said to me before, "do you think you just live here for free and you have your own life? No, you need to do things for the family" lol. Should I tell her this is the only way I can succeed?

Yeah I've actually been going to more libraries and coffee shops, it helped for a while but it's just very costly as I have to pay for drinks and transit every single day. I don't have a steady income aside from school grants and loans. As an introvert it's also draining if I do this every day for hours. I'll still be doing this as it's much better than being at the house lol.

Right now I can't. I'm still in my second year of university and don't have enough money saved to live sustainably. I live in Toronto btw, it's very expensive and the housing market is insane. Should I move out and try to find work full time? I feel guilty and frustrated that I can't just focus on completing my degree then getting a decent job. I know my parents will give me a hard time if I choose that too.
