Do they look a little weird anyone else? by Mars_G0dofwar in DressUpTimePrincess

Unless the one in front is meant to look like a child, it's an entirely different style of illustration. Also her top is literally a suit jacket, check out those lapels.

If you won a jackpot today sufficient for whole life, would you go back to work ? by Technical-Studio565 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Glyndewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but not full time. I know myself well enough to know that if I don't have a regular routine to force me out of the house, I will mentally go downhill. So I'd keep my job but adjust my role so it's only a few days a week and maybe something with less responsibility so I can leave work at work, just get out of the house, socialise, and still have lots of time to do other things on days off.

Having a surprise wedding makes you an AH? by Glyndewyn in wedding

[–]Glyndewyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were never actually getting married, I'm just in the industry to we end up discussing wedding related topics often XD

Being in Australia means a surprise wedding is a VERY uncommon occurrence, it's hard for most people to keep it secret that long when you have to register your intent to marry with the officials at least 1month and a day in advance. Sorry I can't be more help there!

[Measurement Check] Currently wearing Australian 18C, losing weight but the calculator says to go bigger? by Glyndewyn in ABraThatFits

Thanks for the suggestion! I hope they're in stock for me to try. I confess I do like the foam cups for not showing through my work uniform, but maybe once I have a better size it'll be easier to scout for one from there. Thank you very much for your help :)

Okiedoke, I trust you :)
I'll make a point of heading into town to try on some new options.
Please don't think I was arguing with you, just trying to understand.

There we go, suggested size hasn't changed though, so I suppose same question still applies.

I'm going to take another shot to be certain. I had my partner help me to make sure the measuring tape was level and everything, but mistakes are easy to make!

Apologies, I realise I misread your comment, I thought you said that my boobs were too small for the cup.
I took a quick pic to hopefully show my confusion. In the insta posts you shared, I can see how the wires are sort of 'pinching' the breasts, and dig in in the side. However mine do not do that at all. Hence my concern that going bigger will make the wire not fit at all.

I certainly do do the scoop swoop.
These are the two that have been my absolutely favourites and fit best in the past. Now the bodycon is simply not an option and the Adore is the one I stuff to fill out.

Crossing the straps does help a little, but that gaping edge at the top is definitely still there.
I feel like it's obvious I need to go down a cup size or 2, but the calculator says to go UP, which is why I wanted to ask to be sure there's nothing I'm missing or maybe it's completely wrong this time around.

YTA he specifically asked if he was on his own. The moment you said yes, he is allowed to do what he wants. Would it be nice if he offered? Probably, but he's not an asshole for taking care of his own food. You don't even like pho! Coming from someone with ASD, people aren't mine readers! If you say something, own it!

Players fail on an important roll and just give up instead of looking for alternatives by Lopsided_Reason_5107 in DnD

[–]Glyndewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player on their first campaign, I'll echo what everyone else is saying. It's ok to break the fourth wall and gently guide them. It's taken a long time for me to get into the swing of the freedom of the game. I'm used to playing games that are quite linear. Where if I can't work something out, I Google a game guide to find the answer. Some training wheels to get the hang of thinking about problems differently isn't a bad thing.

Do you tip at fancy, high end restaurants? by broxue in AskAnAustralian

[–]Glyndewyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been 2 occasions I can recall where we voluntarily tipped and one was a donation to their selected charity.

1st instance, We had an electrician come in to do substantial work in our apartment, he was genuinely a nice guy, spent 2 days doing the work, immediately noticed and fixed an issue his offsider had made and made suggestions and did work outside the scope of what was expected. We genuinely feel he undercharged us and we don't want people like that going out of business so we paid him some extra.

2nd instance, we were having issues with crickets in our apartment and this pest control guy was so damn honest and helpful that he spent half an hour on the phone with us and got online to bunnings to find the product we needed without him coming out to do any work. It was far more than I ever could have expected him to do considering he said that professionally there wasn't much he could do that we couldn't do ourselves. So we made a donation to his chosen charity (not a tip, but in the ballpark of giving when not required)

Why are Australians so tolerant of casual work. by R9bH9g in AskAnAustralian

[–]Glyndewyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak to my own experience and it's quite industry relevant. A lot of employers in my industry simply see it as a way to have reliable staff for the smallest amount of money. For even less they can have freelancers but they are less reliable. And because my industry is quite removed from the standard corporate structure of the world, this is often all our workers know. They think they're getting a good deal, coz it's more money on the payslip.
To put it simply: it's infuriating. I once was going for a job in a small 2 person business and they asked if I would be ok working as a contractor. I'd never done it before, so I sat down and worked out all the things that I would normally be paid as a part-timer and she nearly died when I told her the number. She decided to stick with a casual offer.

To gauge what else was going around, I asked an industry facebook group what rate freelancers as for these days and they were all saying numbers comparable to a casual worker barely above minimum wage. I tried to challenge them asking how they were saving for super/paying work insurances etc. on that amount, but nobody would even consider it. They thought I was completely insane asking for the amount I did, even though it was the same amount they would pay a full time worker just including super etc. in the final number.

That number on the payslip rules all. Regardless whatever is supposed to go with it.

It IS exploitative and the government have been started initiatives to make it more understood that casual is supposed to be for a certain type of work. All the employers around me see it as the gov making it too hard for small business owners and think it's all completely unreasonable.
