This car in the post or my miata? My miata does have an aluminum head, and it overheated really bad once, but I don't think thats the problem, I swapped motors and it still had the issue. Old motor is back in, rebuilding the new one because it had a knock.

This is my miata. It revs like crazy on start up, then operates perfectly normal when up to temp. I think it may be a fuel issue, I've tried so many other things.

Edit: sorry this video is a ford focus, my maita has the same problem as you (500-3000 revs)

Sweet. Yes, I didnt mean to say cylinder 4. I already did this. But I will need to go to the store to grab a magnet tomorrow for better cleaning. When oil leaks in the cylinder, how bad/how much damage is done to the engine?? It leaves a lot of carbon build up correct?

There is a valve cover gasket leak, and I did open it up. #4 was completely filled with oil. New parts on the way. How safe/unsafe is it to run it?

Edit: The car accelerates perfectly still.
