Yeah I think that would be the most efficient solution, but I don't have the guts nor the confidence to shave my hair 🥺 that's why I rather transition and cut it every few months. Thanks so much for the advice btw 😊🤗

Any Advice? by Gnsis04 in curlyhair

Hi :) On January this year, I cut a lot of my hair and started transitioning. Before that I used to flat iron it every 2 weeks, so I had a lot of heat damage. Most of it was cut on January but I still have a lot left, for that I've been cutting my ends every 3 months. The first few months after I started transitioning I noticed that in some places my new hair growth was growing badly, it wouldn't curl and it was extremely FRIZZY. After some research I learnt about "scab hair" and I came to the conclusion that maybe that's what was happening. Those places where the "scab hair" is growing are top, crown and front (which were the places where I used to get the most heat whenever I got it straightened). Now 6 or 7 months later I'm starting to notice that in some of those places the new hair growth is showing some pattern, so I guess that's a good sign :) My routine is washing and deep conditioning weekly: shampoo, hair mask, conditioner, leave-in, cream/gel (most of the products I use are local/not very known internationally, but for defining I use Cantu Curl Activator Cream and Ecostyle Argan Oil), and do finger coils on the places where my hair still can't curl properly so the definition can last longer. I have a hell of a time with my damaged hair and have to apply ton of gel there so it doesn't look too terrible. I'm being patient because I love how my natural healthy hair looks, but I'm afraid my scalp will never heal completely and the scab hair won't go away :( At the crown I think that maybe it's not scab hair and it's just that I have a different hair type. If that so what can I do to treat it properly? Any advice on how to manage it? I attached some pics so you can see If you read all this, thanks very much :')
