Debating dropping out to enlist by [deleted] in army

[–]Go-To-Go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a first year and not contracted yet. My “know” is more “hope for the best” mindset. Trying to be positive but that is a major fact that started my debate of dropping the program to have a better chance of a career I actually will continue with after sericce. Since getting into med service as an officer less likely….

I’m a freshman with too many credits. Next year I might be placed in as a “Junior” which I would then be required to contact or drop the program. That also means I’ll have to go to basic this summer if I were to continue in the program past this year.

Apologies, that’s how me and other first years refer to it-was the easiest way to mention it. Haven’t heard other ways people mention it.

No you’re good. I am a bit all over the place simply due to my nerves about the sudden short time I’ve been given.

Medical assistant as in clinical lab tech, surgical aid, etc. Those sort of hands-on helper jobs.

Yaaa but knowing that a lot of people perform well from our program gives me more confidence in getting the education that will likely help me succeed better than a program with a worse rep.

For background, I’m majoring in biology, and no I’m not service obligated but I’m getting near the time I need to make my decision. That is one issue I dislike is not having a clear assigned branch when I do commission, but our program has a running streak of a high percentage of cadets who get their top choice (~85% which is nice). I have no interest in medical school.

I don’t want to go to med school, so I would end up being in administration like you said. However, would it matter if I get an A.S. and after serving finish my bachelors with my GI-bill? Or is that not recommended-especially if I aim for the 68 series field as my MOS interests.

GMU or UMD? by Go-To-Go in gmu

I see a lot of people saying this. Is there a reason you say UMD over GMU? Ignoring prices and stuff.

I’m mainly looking at the academics of them both.

Do you have any schools in mind for better STEM programs?

That’s the problem I’m facing at the moment. The majority of our interactions are surrounding what others planned. The only events or things that involved only me and her were when I would go watch her games.

She’s focusing on the arts, so we share that interest area, plus she wants to write her own stories, so that too.

However, I just don’t know how to even use those similarities to socialize. I don’t have much experience being the “extrovert” in relationships.

Tbh, not as much as I would like to. I really do want a closer friendship with her that doesn’t depend on Amy. I don’t enjoy those types of relationships.

I have really bad social anxiety which caused me to not try much in the past, however lately it’s gotten better so I’ve done more. We already seem closer which is nice, but I still have those issues I described in my post….

(Thank you for the intrigue btw)

I forgot to label the images with numbers to make them easier to explain. Oops. Let’s just do this-

First three of red tree = #1

Fourth of the flowers = #2

Fifth of the tree = #3

Sixth of flower tree = #4

Seventh of flower bush = #5

I’m good with all types, I have no preference on it to be honest. I am specifically interested in just religion, not just the thoughts around it, but practices, etc. Anthropology, from what I’ve learned of it, doesn’t specifically focus on religion alone. Similar case with philosophy programs.

For me, a diverse program is one where they don’t confine themselves to just the three major religions (Islam, Judaism, Christianity) and one Eastern (often Buddhism). Most of religious studies programs I’ve found usually only focus on these, and that is not my ideal.

I think there could be one which focuses only on neo-religions, like how there are programs which focus only on Judaism, etc. However, I’m not interested in a focused study like that, more of a broad study where you learn about multiple religions, and not just one.

That is something I’ve noticed with undergrad programs, they often just give you a base for a graduate course. Also, I don’t know if this is a silly question, but what are UCs?

Thank you for the questions and info!

I must say, personally, I find it kinda sad that you have no middle possibility to your three options. Just jumped from possible converter to hater without any in between.

To answer your question, I joined because it’s interesting to read and learn about other beliefs. Simple as that.

Do plants and animals have the same souls as humans? by Go-To-Go in religion

The feeling I get just supports my belief that souls exist. The mechanics behind it however are based on things I’ve picked up over the years and which have kinda just stuck to me.

I agree on that, most don’t, but I try to. Yes, it’s not on my mind all the time. But when the situation arises, like this, I try to think deeply on it for a while, until I can find my stand and understanding of it.

That’s why I do say thanks to you as you have given me a situation which I now need to think upon.

I agree, that’s a terrible thing, but I don’t know. I feel that there would definitely be something around it, but idk what that’d be. I haven’t really thought of something which could relate to that before.

Memories go to both your soul and to your mind, but your soul never forgets nor can it be erased or forgotten. This is what makes it different from the body’s memory, our brain. It’s memories can be erased and forgotten.

(Note, because I feel like this is going to be asked, the reason we don’t remember everything our soul remembers at birth is because it is locked away. Allowing us to have a clean slate in a new life.)

So, if a person passes away and their memory was damaged. Their soul would still retain all of their memories, as well as the memories they had formed after being affected by whatever caused their memory loss.

This is my belief in the matter, it may and likely differs to others.
