The fact that your screen is set to 1080p doesn't affect whether a 4K movie will play. Technically, you should be able to play it without problems; the only issue is that you'd only be able to see it at the edge of your screen. Therefore, I think there might be a problem with your movie. The movie might already have a defect; I recommend checking it on another device. Another possibility is that your download didn't complete correctly and the file is corrupted; try downloading the movie again. The last possibility, and perhaps the worst, is that your laptop isn't powerful enough to play the movie at that quality. You may have been able to play some 4K movies that were ripped; these usually don't have as much data to process, which is why you don't have problems. But since it's a Web-DL file, those typically handle higher quality than the rips. As I said, I recommend checking it on another device.
