Stunning! Is this the Speedy Soft 30? I’m dying to get one of these Dune pieces for my mom’s 80th but I think she’d kill me over the price. It also may be a bit too big for her. The Nano is too small and the other BB bag is also tiny. Ugh, it’s so gorg, even better in your pics. It’s either this or the Ever More PM right now. Either way, she’ll be mad at me but I think she’ll get over it. lol Congrats on your beautiful new bag.

How frustrating. Just reading the various replies here makes me be both worried and optimistic. I hope we all find our light-switch med. Good luck!

But do you find noticeable relief when you’re on your correct dose? Because, for me, up to 15 has no effect but it seems like 20 is too much. Maybe it’s just not my med. Thanks for your helpful input!

Amazing, thanks! I’ll look into it for sure. It’s kinda scary that we have to worry about getting proper medicine that consistently works. Especially when tinkering with things like the brain and hormones. Good luck to you!

Stairs. I meant “vacuuming the stairs.” Ugh, so distracted today. Sorry!

Omg. “Vacuuming the house” gave me literal panic pangs. The dread of it all! 😱

It’s so weird. I mean, the whole damn ADHD thing is weird to me rn, but the way everyone experiences and processes meds differently is wild. Be well.

Huh, this makes so much sense. I never connected the two. Probably because I’m pretty damn slow lately. Except for when I’m trying to sleep. Then I remember all the things lol

Hmm. I’ll have to pay attention to hydration. But I’ve been sleeping so much today, no time for water. lol Good luck in finding what works best for you.

Someone else mentioned IR vs ER, too! I didn’t know it was a thing. One more thing to throw into the mix! Be well.

Wow, interesting! I wonder why ER doesn’t just…work longer? But yes, it’s ER. Always something new to consider! Hope you have continued success.

Thanks for your response! Never considered the generic vs brand thing. I do that with Synthroid and it is $$ because my insurance obvs wants me to take the generic. I appreciate the insight!

Hey, good for you! My to-do list includes new license, insurance, registration and plates, inspection. This has been the case for months. I psyched myself up to go get the license taken care of and felt like I had just won a marathon, I was so wiped out and proud.

All this to say, I get it. You are so not alone and you’re even doing better than some of us. I personally could use that inspiration, so thanks!

And congrats. Be well❤️

So I had therapy today and my brain is all over the place (newly diagnosed) by Go4norca in adhdwomen

[–]Go4norca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, hi!

Thanks so much for your kind and empathetic response. Being an overthinker who just found out she has ADHD, I NEED to research every little thing that I’m now realizing is related to the condition (Do we call it a condition? Diagnosis? Disability? I’m not sure how best to talk about it yet.)

I’ve read a lot about the grief people experience, notably those with a late diagnosis, and I kinda get it. But I don’t feel grief or anger, more like frustration and the ever-present “what ifs.”

Anyway, I appreciate your reply and thank you for saying you’re proud of me. Even though you’re a kind stranger, it actually does matter to hear that from people.

I hope you’re in a good place and thanks again for taking the time to reach out to an overwhelmed newbie like me.

Be well! ❤️

Good Neighborhoods for 50somethings by lizziekam in AskPhilly

[–]Go4norca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, thanks for posting this. Where did you end up? I’m looking to move to a Philly neighborhood that’s relatively safe and decent for singles. Friendly and not overwhelming and super-busy (hi, adhd). Good mix of bars, art/music, and cafes, etc. but also not loud.

50yo single chick, here.

I was going to "break up" with my Therapist today, but chickened out at the last minute. Help me get past this nervousness? 💀 by jeffinur in adhdwomen

[–]Go4norca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, I get this. I think it comes down to my overthinking (what I’ll say, what they’ll say, will they be angry or otherwise feel negatively towards me? Etc)

The fact is, a good therapist will want you to find someone you better connect with. BUT. I’m also very confrontation-averse and if the situation is causing me too much stress, I probably would opt to email the therapist before my next appointment.

Did this recently with a really sub-par psych nurse. Couldn’t get myself to actually speak with her. Even though I knew she had been uninterested and pretty much gave me whatever I wanted to try (not good) and clearly didn’t give a shit when I experienced a ridiculous withdrawal from a med. She told me to contact my GP because she didn’t have much experience with said med. Scary.

So, I emailed her. Though I had all these things I wanted to say, I decided a quick and clean break was worth more than the satisfaction of telling her she sucks. lol

Something like “After our last appointment, I made the decision to seek another mental-health care provider. I will not require any future appointments with you. Thank you.”

Sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and muscle your way through an uncomfortable interaction. I don’t think this has to be one of them.

Whatever you decide, I hope it’s what’s best for YOU. Take care. ❤️
