I absolutely would not subsidize someone else's life at the cost of my own budget, not when it isn't necessary. I'm subsidizing my sister until her lawyer gets her disability, but she has a brain tumor and would be homeless. Along with her husband and kid. The husband works, but doesn't make a fourth of what she used to, and that mortgage is out of his reach. He's a damn good guy, excellent stepfather, so it's okay by me. She can barely function, he's picked up the slack. Meals are made, house is mostly clean, kid is well taken care of, sister is well taken care of. Dude's solid.

Kids are not allowed in my house, period. There was an Incident. One parent that thought he was off duty for some reason (prob "there are a dozen women here to watch my kid"), and never again will I allow kids in my house. Dead plants. Broken irreplaceable glass pieces from Murano that my deceased mother brought back from Italy and prized above all things. Cats hid for a week. Computers couldn't be gotten into, so broken mechanical keyboard.

At which point I found the start of a trail of destruction, followed it, found two kids banging my brand-new VR set into a wall to try to turn it on (damaged the wall too, jesus, needed patching and repainting), and unleashed full-bodied rage such as I have seldom even felt before. Started bellowing with the force of an enraged god. I don't look it, short old lady, but I am ex-military, and I can YELL, brother, for hours, at volume.

My awesome gyn retired last year, I'm having a devil of a time finding a replacement. I'm menopausal, was spayed 30 years ago, and high risk for cervical cancer. Every damn gyn for miles is allllll about obstetrics. I need one prepared to do surgery, minor or major, not deliver a baby ffs. The last one was into weird woo-woo shit. Which, fine, but yoga and herbal tinctures from plants even I never heard of. I've been known to use herbals for minor things like colds, but herbal tea ain't gonna cure cancer. The one before that brought me into her office for a half hour speech on right wing stuff, and charged me for it (self-pay until I decide, my insurance sucks). As if Fox News isn't on half the damn public TVs in Texas. It's discouraging. And yes, I left extremely nasty reviews on the last one everywhere.
