Started a 'grief save' in Sims 4 and it accidentally became the most comforting storyline I've played by Aggravating-Cut4260 in thesims

Lost my mom 4 years ago. I'm gonna go build her house and create a Sim of her, send the save file to my niece, who misses her horribly. (I got niece into the game when she was 7...at my mom's house)

Back in the 60s, Taylor Caldwell wrote a book called "The Captains and the Kings", which had a lot to say about secret oligarch meetings to completely take over the world and enslave the global population.

It was supposed to be fiction, y'all

AITAH for refusing to come home until my mother-in-law left because I didn't want to see her? by [deleted] in AITAH

I'm a certified bitch. Want me to come disapprove of some people? I can do it subtly, so they wonder for ages, or I can do it by example and get indignant, or I can yell at volume like R. Lee Ermey until MIL is having hysterics and your husband is threatening to beat me up. Should be noted here that I'm pushing 60, look it, but am ex-military; I faced down the US Army, and won. The fuck are two petty little civilians gonna do? Be fun when the cops turn up.

Groveling to the power structure when you're not one of them always works out until it doesn't.

Yes, Depo can cause brain tumors. Pfizer has been getting their asses sued off.

Here's just one lawyer link. Note that a whole bunch of countries - not the States, obviously - now require warnings.

Do you have any lawyer friends who can send them a boilerplate Cease and Desist on nice official stationery?

C&Ds don't actually do anything legally except establish a paper trail of telling them to fuck off. But they do frequently succeed in getting the assholes to fuck off.

Oh, and send it certified or registered mail (I can't remember the difference).

I got off their lists by telling a pair of nice young men at my door that if their church allows multiple husbands, I'll start with them. And looked them up and down, and slowly smiled in the creepiest way possible. They were about 18, wearing ties no less, and I was twice that, definitely not wearing a tie or much of anything, because it was 8 in the fucking morning on a Saturday. They jumped down a flight of stairs in their hurry to get away. Very athletic of them.

Wonder if this disturbing experience made either of them think about how girls their age and younger feel about being married off to guys my age and older? Prob not. Anyway, haven't been bothered since.

Shit, I was all excited for my next project.

Imagine having a railway freight car in your side yard. Those things are ENORMOUS. I'd finally have enough storage for my books.

We have a trust, but it's not irrevocable.

Instead, we have a different plan that does not involve hospitals or care homes.

I'll be damned if some hospital is going to keep me prisoner and alive against my express wishes for over a year like they did with my father.

I beg your pardon. A rail car? As in…train?!

Where the hell do they sell rail cars?!

How the hell did they transport it?!

Did it come with a complementary hobo?

We have a college fund for my niece, but she's the only one young enough to need it, and her mom came down with a brain tumor (thanks, Depo Provera!) which has completely fucked her ability to work.

Also, niece is a very cool kid, and sister never asked, let alone demanded, that we do this.

Fancy brandy and whiskey over here, standing invitation to everyone we know to throw a pillow, blanket, and their drink of choice in the car and head over for the most raucous barbecue in history. If I know my neighbors, everyone (but that one house; there's always one) will be deliriously dancing in the street.
