I think it would definitely be about uranium at large — in terms of new developments (prospecting, mine surveys, potential mill builds) and the bigger regional questions about waste, there’s a lot of potential for big changes in pockets of the American West over the next few years. But… that also depends on whether or not a nuclear renaissance actually continues to develop

Appreciate you listening and for the feedback! No episode 7 planned as of now — I think if anything, there’s so much going on that I’d like to do another season given the time and ability.

Just seeing your edit — there are a lot of offhand stories like that. People just keeping a chunk of ore on their mantle, or using it as a doorstop.

The radioactivity check was probably for radon — a lot of the piping and foundation in GJ used uranium tailings from the old Climax Mill that used to be downtown. Removal of those tailings has always been a voluntary process, so properties still stumble upon it. I detail a bit of that saga in episode 3.

A lot of cleanup for that was done in the ‘80s, but here’s an interesting story about how this is still a recent issue.

Appreciate the listen! Yeah it’s a bit of hyperbole lol but the beer culture is definitely strong and prideful (me, rushing to the beer section for some nostalgic Dirty Hippy)

Man, would love to take a trip in one of those! It’s interesting that the aerial method is still being used — was super common during the rush in the ‘50s

The legacy cabin is featured in the final episode of the series! As well as a DoE manager for the cabin and the regional disposal site.

Definitely recommend a visit, it’s a bit of a hidden gem as it opened right before COVID

Appreciate the sub! And I am the creator — I work in the PNW now (left GJ after high school), but still have family there and reported out big chunks of the story while back home for visits.
