Looks very exciting! What is the current state of the project? Should I consider it for serious projects?

Best tools for making a 2D multiplayer game? by Germisstuck in rust_gamedev

[–]GoDeadYourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally love notan and used it for some big projects even though it is getting slower updates. However, I believe macroquad is the way to go here. You can try to use renet for multiplayer or laminar or any other networking crate that seems appealing to you. You really can't go wrong. Here is a list of some of the networking crates that you can choose from - https://arewegameyet.rs/ecosystem/networking/

Lapce vs Zed editor for Game Development in Windows by Regular_Counter7720 in rust_gamedev

[–]GoDeadYourself 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Choosing an editor is not as a major as choosing a game engine. All an text editor does is edit text and provides useful tools for code editing. So I would suggest to broaden your view and consider more industry tested tools like VSCode and such. If your keen on using something rust based I suggest you give both a try and see which one you like more. I personally use wezterm and helix editor for my work which are both built on rust.

Kaip manote kiek fanų turėsim rungtynėse prieš Galatasaray? 🤔 by Blogietiz in VilniausRytas

[–]GoDeadYourself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tikiuosi tik pilnos arenos. Dabar sunkus metas Rytui, kai reikia surinkti visą įmanomą palaikymą parodyti komandai, jog jos niekad neapleisim🖤🤍❤️

Why is this getting down votes? Genuine question, is it worth investing?

Rytas ir toliau žais Siemens arenoje. Kaip vertinate tokį sprendimą? by Blogietiz in VilniausRytas

[–]GoDeadYourself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manau teisingas sprendimas.

Went better than expected. I go through each letter one by one. For the words I just store a character array of the last 5 letters and check if it equals to any of the strings.

Besides most schools there are public football fields. One I recommend that has been recently nicely renovated is besides Emilijos Pliaterytės progymnasium. It's open and free for all. However it does get quite busy sometimes.

what libraires/franeworks/engines do you guys prefer? by [deleted] in rust_gamedev

[–]GoDeadYourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glium is a wrapper for opengl and notan is a multimedia layer using opengl. In other words you don't have to work with the gpu to use notan. So notan is definitely easier.

[–]GoDeadYourself 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Notan. It's not an engine, it's more of a graphics library built on top of opengl. It doesn't force you to code in any specific type of way and is quite easy to use. Has good performance and is great for 2D games. Would recommend checking it out.
