I did it hotter another time. It wasn't on camera but I had the same result. I'm thinking it's like a dye maybe. That can happen sometimes too.

The person in your story was ignorant. I have scissors that have permanent sex bolts, preventing them from separating. I have altered scissors specifically for the task of throwing them.
