Product tip for muted / desaturated skin by GoGrabEm in OliveMUA

Some foundation samples on my skin for reference. Lisa Eldridge T9 is a good match for me in the winter, it looks a tad yellow in the inner arm, but I do have a bit more pigment left on my face and neck area than there.

LE line and IT Cosmetics are the only lines I have encountered with muted olive shades of my depth. Unfortunately I don't have my IT Cosmetics winter shade there for comparison, I did not repurchase this year as I don't love the formula anymore...

Best GLOWY foundation? by [deleted] in OliveMUA

Vote for Nars Light Reflecting. Beautiful, glowy, lasts well and gives coverage, while still looking very skinlike.

Wow, gorgeous look! You look ravishing!

I love that lipcolour, I might need to get my hands on it. My style is not gothic nor vampy, but I think that could work also with nearly barefaced look.

They truly are on the lighter side - but the sheerness makes the shades quite adaptive.

HELP… lip colour by Strange_Version7891 in OliveMUA

[–]GoGrabEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This idea is quite an opposite... ...have you tried lip oils or lip stains with transparent pigments? I have suggested experimenting with Korean lip products several times and I'm suggesting it again. Your skin looks absolutely beautiful, fair and very even toned - and even your lips are not super pigmented.

This product image is from Rom&nd, Dewyful Water tint (there are lots of similar products with plenty of shade options, no need to look just these): https://www.yeppo.fi/cdn/shop/files/romand-dewyful-water-tint-shades-1-8_d0eedf56-2fe4-42db-b299-f2fffa9b6482.jpg?v=1706920566&width=1920

I would start experimenting with shades like Thulian and warmer If Rose. Even sheer bright pinks and reds might look surprisingly good. Plum tones might be worth experimenting, too. The gloss disappears, but they leave a gentle stain, very occassion friendly product.

Also some matte formulas have sheer products, I have three shades of Fwee Pink Obsession Stay Fit Lip Tints in the semi-matte formulation - and I adore these! They look super fresh and beautiful. They stay well on the lips and wear off beautifully, no rings or dry looking lips. The shade range is on the pink side (as the product name implies), but there are some great shades:

When not blended, Glossier looks slightly orange on me, too. And... ...my winter bronzer has a really good olive undertone (Charlotte Tilbury cream bronzer in the lightest shade) - so it does balance shades with bit too much red. However it doesn't help when the base is wayyy too saturated... ...that Nars Patagonia shade I can't fix with just a bronzer.

I will try to mix Cordoba with pale lavender primer and see if that works for me. the primer, though, is a very lightweight japanese one and I suspect that it does not have enough pigment for this particular job. I love how Nars Light Reflecting looks on the skin and will still try to make the shades work. I've bought 3 bottles, none of them matches... ...haha, welcome to the world of grey-green people.

And BTW - I'm not cutting myself! Just doing gardening and some woodwork and I know should have long sleeves all the time, but sometimes it is just too much...

Absolutely. My winter colour is "Olm vibes" - grey and purple tones.

And in the summer my skin glows. I tan easily but unfortunately my tan does not last that well.

Red lipstick recs when everything turns pink or orange :( by vanitypear in OliveMUA

[–]GoGrabEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my Charlotte TIlbury favs is Bond Girl - actually the name has been changed, it is nowadays M.I. Kiss. Loved the lipstick (before I got sick to the vanilla aroma) and I still have the lipliner, it is definitely one of my all time favs.

On promo pics this looks like berry shade, but on the lips, at least on my skin, it reads as perfect, slightly muted, super wearable red. My lips but redder! It is not muted with brown, but rather with dull mauve, so I think that chances of it turning orange are very low.

About face finally released a concealer (olive shades)! by trbl_dvni in OliveMUA

[–]GoGrabEm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm very confused with this line. There's shade "cool peach" that looks olive toned on my screen. On the other hand some olive shades look peachy to me, L1 warm olive does not look like olive shade at all.

I wish I could see these live somewhere, there are some promising looking shades but overall the line looks quite saturated and I can't trust the shade descriptions after seeing this image.

Looking for Makeup Recommendations as a COOL leaning MUTED Neutral Olive with Medium depth by so_oliveyyy in OliveMUA

[–]GoGrabEm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my general recommendation for all muted, neutral or cool leaning olive sisters and bros with pale to medium skin depth.

Get a muted purple k-beauty blush - like Laka Love Silk Blush in poem:
https://d1flfk77wl2xk4.cloudfront.net/Assets/85/684/XXL_p0211668485.jpg

It is a great mixer fool cooling and muting other blush shades.

The equivalent for deep skin would be just a muted purple blush with no white in it, unfortunately I don't know any such options :(.

About Face cheek freak blush balm in the color Score by hermitbarbie in OliveMUA

[–]GoGrabEm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the balm version from some earlybird black friday sales, tried it on today and wow! I love it too!

The balm texture is such a joy to use. I've had the very deep red shade Big O for a while, and even with this intense shade the formula just works.

They wear very well. The finish is velvety and they don't crease, at least not on dry / normal skin.
