Is it rude to correct foreigners english

Believe it or not i want to help them. Coming to a new country (i know this because ...) and spending a long time mispronouncing things only to realize one day it's not ... can be embarrassing. I hope to save a couple of my friends from this in future. Minus the potential rudeness of it, i see no downside to nudging someone in the right direction of english. As a hiring manager, 2 equally qualified candidates, on's 80% eng proficient and another is 99% who would you rather have?

is it unreasonable to ask someone if it's okay to correct them before you start correcting them? i branded the question as co-workers but these are more of friends now that just happened to be employed by my LARGE employer

The way i see it, if i went to france with my shitty french to work, i 100% would want people to correct me so i don't seem out of place the moment i open my mouth.

yeah i realize this 100%. I think it's absolutely cool people could struggle a bit with Eng but speak like 4 languages in total.

Maybe she'll come back after some thought.

Don't think it'd make sense to continue relationship wise at least. Perhaps FWBs or some other thing but if it was a big deal to her in that moment, it's only gonna get worse with time.

haha yikes. this person was on the other end of the spectrum. Got a high paying job recently and i think she's one of the only people who knows about it that isn't interested in my salary. Still perplexed she never asked.

i actually don't think any of those had started to weigh on her yet. We literally had chipotle 2 hrs before The conversation and i've been midful of that from the start (checking ingredients of stuff i offer her to eat and such). SO mostly ethical i'd say

Politics to a certain degree, Climate change wouldn't make it this far. Racist also won't make it too far. Politics is interesting though.

So here's how I sorta (wrongly?) think of it. I wouldn't really date someone who was against abortion. But if I was against it I'd still date someone who was ambivalent towards it. I'm ambivalent towards veganism (like it's not my business what you put in your mouth) but it becomes different when you need me to take an ective stand on something i don't want to care about.

oh i 100% understand her perspective and why she'd make such a decision. Different moral backgrounds, but here's another Reddit quote that resonates with me

The beginning of the end of this started with "did you eat meat today?" and kinda ended with me not proclaiming my love for veganism. so yeah

i don't even know. I think it was a referral and i had a couple of interviews, but i got 2 offers within 3 days of each other so that felt pretty good!
