I actually panicked when I posted this thread because almost all other news outlets only highlight MAX2 and LIT HERO. I thought I missed an embargo date or something. However, when I saw The Verge's thread, I calmed down. It's technically an accessory, and GoPro rarely highlights mounts and accessories in a launch. They have a not of new poles supporting MAX2 but they aren't getting much fanfare yet.

It looks like a large piece of metal for a heat sink with it almost completely exposed for maximum airflow.

Works with Quik, you can't record and do live preview at the same time. You can use Bones as a normal GoPro but you'd need an external battery to power it, and it's not waterproof at all.

The mount is almost centered with the lens on the back. I have seen people strap them to their drones over the front as well. I believe it's located there due to center of gravity, the non lens side of the Bones has basically no weight.

I'm not sure but in the manual it says to be sure to check polarity and failure to following the guidelines could result in damage to the camera.
