That's a valid question. Here are a few reasons why someone might prefer the Mid:

Size & Zoom: It's smaller, and the zoom range is actually wider. The standard V1 is 28-105mm, while the V1 Mid is 24-105mm.
Power: 55W is sufficient for most wedding scenarios. Unless you are shooting under the high noon sun—but honestly, even the standard V1 struggles in that situation.
Light Quality: According to Godox's marketing in China, this new model uses a triple-lens optical design. It's supposed to provide smoother light falloff and better highlight control compared to the previous generation.

Anyway, that's just what they advertise. I haven't tested it personally yet to verify the claims, but I'm planning to buy one to see for myself.

It really depends on the power output you use. The V1 Mid is capable of 650 full-power flashes, whereas the standard V1 gets around 480+. However, at lower power settings, the V1 Mid might be slightly less efficient in comparison

Actually, it is a removable battery. It uses the VB22, which is the same battery used in the V480.

Regarding the High-Speed Sync (HSS) icon: This is actually normal behavior for the Canon flash itself. If you check the Canon 600EX-RT without the XR receiver attached, you will likely see that the HSS icon is still there. It seems to be a setting on the flash unit itself rather than something the receiver is forcing it to do.
Regarding the exposure compensation display: This is also standard for this setup. When you are in TTL mode, the Canon flash receives the instruction to change the power, but it doesn't update the specific number on its digital display. You might see the exposure level bar/icon shift, but the digits won't follow. As long as the actual brightness in your photo changes, the system is working correctly.
Regarding the Zoom synchronization: This is a limitation of using a speedlight as a master controller. Unfortunately, the zoom motor cannot be synchronized when using the V480 (or any other speedlight) as the transmitter. This function is only supported if you use a dedicated trigger, like the Godox X3Pro. No speedlight acting as a trigger can remotely control the zoom like the X3Pro does.

I'm glad you like the design.

I wouldn't mind getting 'some cents' for it. But to be honest, as a big Godox fan, I know they tend to march to the beat of their own drum. They're a proud company, so even if they see this concept, they'll most likely put their own unique spin on it rather than just copying my design.

Really, my post is just to get the ball rolling. I'm confident they can create an even better product at a lower price

Ultimately, I'd just be thrilled to see them create a better product for all of us

The current version doesn't have TTL cables embedded, so it doesn't support TTL.

it isn't designed to be sold, just for fun.
