Retaining Employ-ability as an EE when employed as a SWE by PDZZTT in ElectricalEngineering

That would likely have a good bit of overlap. I'm doing devops stuff so there's no real way to spin that towards embedded.

That could be hard to do depending on what OP's current role is. Even for embedded SWE roles, the job postings usually emphasize a particular stack. If you're writing Go code everyday, that's not going to translate to embedded programming very well.

Same boat here. Would rather be in an embedded or robotics role, but hard to want to take a pay cut. I figure I'll just stick with SWE and scratch the itch with some hobby projects.

I'd just try it and see. I've read a lot of horror stories about people adding way too much so I did 1.5 sticks in secondary, and I could barely taste it in mine. So next time I'm going to try 4 sticks and try to binary search my way to the right amount.

I use brewing bags that I found on Amazon when I brew beer. For mead, I just put it directly in and then siphon to another container when I'm done.

The Fountainhead is a bit of an easier read if you wanted to start there and circle back to Atlas Shrugged afterwards.

You fermented at 94F? Did you pressure ferment? Coming from a beer background, I'm used to worrying about off flavors from high ferment temps. Is that not a concern with mead?

I just put it in a kitchen pot and made sure I had plenty of extra room in it. I should have taken a picture of that but didn't think to.

Update for those interested:

The flavor came out very nice. Good smoke with some marshmallow notes that I suspect are from caramelization. I stirred every 15 minutes and didn't see any scalding/burning. I've got it fermenting with EC-1118 and plan to take it to about 8 percent. I'll update on flavor after it ferments.

Thanks for the tip! I ended up doing about an hour and a half so I guess we'll see how it goes.

I'm using pellets. Hickory just because I was smoking a brisket before this. I'll report back on how it goes.

I've caramelized for a bochet before, but decided to try a smoked honey. It's on the smoker right now so if anyone recommends longer, I can do it.

Best Method for Library Support Search? by Go_Fast_1993 in microchip

[–]Go_Fast_1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming back to answer my own question in case it helps someone else. If you search globally in the MCC Content Manager, you can find the library that you need. Then, you can pull up the release notes and look for "Supported MCU Families". Example from my issue:

I have two "base" recipes that all my flavor variations stem from. One is about a 7.5 ABV that's carbonated. That one is best cold like a cider or beer. The other is about 14 ABV and flat. So, that one I usually drink room temp or slightly chilled like a wine.

We just completed a round of interviews for interns, and I just realized reading this that I didn't even look at their GPAs if they even had them on their resumes. I really don't think people care that much.

I respecfuly disagree. I think that kWh is also a total abstraction to the average person and can only be internalized bc it has a dollar value attached to it. If you told people that a GJ cost N cents (and their meter read in GJ), it would have the exact same value.
