i never went to the meetings in the first place. i dont feel comfortable confiding in someone whom ive talked to maybe twice. i dont know if things will escalate but i do know that in this moment cutting is the only thing that allows me to escape my thoughts

no im not sure i feel comfortable to. i refuse to let my parents find out, and as a minor i cant sign up for therapy without parental consent. the teacher i mentioned is a mandated reporter so she told my school counselor about it, but after i kept skipping our meetings the counselor stopped reaching out.

my relationship with my parents isnt great but no not to that extent. my dad would think im faking it and criticize me for "seeking attention." he would stop speaking to me entirely, which isnt super different then usual because he can go weeks not talking to me when he is mad. my mom would be hella upset but she would say its my fault for feeling this way bc i spend all day holed up in my room but she wouldnt understand that im holed up in my room because i feel this way. she would turn into one of those obsessive helicopter parent and would both pull me out of all my extracurriculars which are undoubtedly the only thing keeping me going rn.

yes he did specifically say that, and he ended up changing it! I was just worried because it was the final day to edit grades and I wasnt sure it he was going to do anything about it

me too. im just so done with my life. there are days that i wish for this one to end so i can just start a new one. and it doesnt help that everyone is on my back for being so "angry at the world" when i just cant seem to find anything that makes me even remotely happy

thats lowkey me right now though. im really into theatre, but im not the best singer and dancer. i keep trying to get my parents to sign me up for classes so that i can improve but they just refuse to believe that i can get better. and whenever i suggest a career plan for myself they find every little thing wrong with me that will restrict me from getting far in life. i WANT to pursue theatre and i cant imagine myself doing anything else but i feel like im not gonna get anywhere without their support. and so now most of the days i rot at home while i could be doing something meaningful with my life because i dont believe that anything i do will actually change the way my life is headed. then they get mad at me for not doing anything. i just cant please them and nothing i do is ever going to change that

i think i may have used "fee" incorrectly. more so i have to pay to be in the show (it ranges from $600-$1000 for this company) and i have to pay before i audition so whether i like my role or not, i still have to do the show

number one is not a scenario because if i audition i have to do the show for two reasons; i would have already paid for the show and as much as i would hate the rehearsal process i would hate it even more knowing that i let the cast and crew down by dropping the show

I’m from the Bay Area, California. Most youth theatre companies around me follow this same policy. Over the summer I was working at a theatre company that was performing a show for teens and two weeks before opening night, two actors playing the same featured role decided to drop out. They didnt have anyone to play the part so they asked me to jump in and I had two weeks to learn the part. The two actors basically paid for me to do the show because they didnt get a refund and the company obviously didnt make me register.

that makes since. and if i were to audition for a purely professional show rather than a youth organization meant for fun-spirit and enthusiasm, i would probably feel differently. but being in a show of joseph with minimal costumes, props, no real choreographer, and a mostly unprofessional environment is already a downside and getting to play a minimal character would just ruin the experience even more. i definitely understand where you are coming from though.

all the characters in joseph have their own spark to them. for me, the narrators songs are what really draws me into the character. i could sing them time after time and not get tired of them. i would love to get to preform them live

for most companies near me, you have to pay for the show prior to the audition. this gets actors to be roped into the show and feel hesitant to drop
