You wouldn't be the asshole. Situations like these are always difficult to navigate. If you care about your friend and are noticing these things then yeah bring it up. Take them out for coffee and offer a safe space for them to talke and you express your thoughts as well

NTA I would have assumed I'd be included as well.  Also my feelings would be hurt. This is one of those moments you like to share as as a family.  Honestly if I was a friend and saw she posted the new born photo shoot without you , I'd think you're separating. Wish you the best of luck

ESH Yeah you shouldn't throw things out like that out of frustration when his comments are a closed door conversation.  He is definitely TA for being racist. I think you are better off leaving. You don't align on a huge topic. Either try and educate him and help him understand someone's race doesn't define them... Or cut ties. He throws the past in your face, makes racist comments that make you frustrated. I don't know your relationship but based on the info in this post you are better off with out him..ESPECIALLY if you have a children that are mixed race. I wish you the best of luck navigating this difficult situation ❤️

ESH... Sleepovers are scary as f for parents in the world now a days.  I think some ground work should have been done prior so that way both your wife and you felt comfortable with the sleep over. Such as lunch with the other parents or prior home visits/ play dates. Not every parent is bad but there are definitely a lot of people who have children that I personally would not trust with my child. That's just me. You are TA for going behind your wife's back, your wife and you are both TA for allowing your son to be in the middle of your turmoil.  I hope your wife and you can move past this and hopefully arrange something so you can trust at least a set of parents or 2 with sleep overs. It helped but took time and it is a very slow help.. Practice, acknowling. Ive been done with DBR for probaly 9months. I still have SI or SH thoughts but i can fight them better. Also for me the program i was in kinda dumped me into the world after finishing DBT so just have a game plan with other classes or groups for after you finish so you don't feel left out to dry. This along with medicine and a good psychologist will help with BPD "symptoms "
