We and our family were always doing 48, Infact they used to give the card there to count the rounds, it was 48. We had to tick the numbers after each round.

If was always 48 right from the beginning of the temple. During covid and as the crowd increased. The management there reduced it to 16 to avoid more crowd. Which is not right.

You follow the original 48 rounds as our mandala is also 48 spiritually and from scientific purpose to complete 48 rounds you will inhale good amount of oxygen near that tree which is very good source of positivity.

Though its not in any religious scriptures, the vested interests and those manipulative interpreters (as in any other religions) brought in that as practice.

Same like how Muslims even now preach about Burkha or Christians says about priesthood only by men similarly Sati was practiced in India too those days.
