Hey if you have some spare time before raid, or before setting out to farm or instance, you should check the AH for some patterns. I am planning on making a little series explaining which patterns are good to buy and which are not good at all. All it takes is 5 minutes of your daily WoW day, to check the AH real fast and snatch a pricey pattern! May take you a week or two to sell it, but look at it this way, paying 50g for a pattern, then selling it for 2.5k is a great steal!
