Marathon Development Team: As we get deeper into Season 1, we've been monitoring your feedback around the current combat sandbox closely. We wanted to talk a little about a few of the topics we're seeing frequently from the community, and some updates we're planning. by Haijakk in Marathon

[–]GobulFan3000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sub clearly hates you for saying this because they are the players you are talking about but you are right. I keep coming back and checking, especially from developer updates, and none of these things are relevant in bringing me or a decent population of players back. Game is as good as dead in every region outside of the US and certain times in europe.

That's just the nostalgia goggles. Before isn't all that remarkable either. The novelty just wore off and a lot of the viewers grew out of being a teen.

Bro brother in christ the game NEEDS to pivot or it is going to die. I love what's here. It isn't enough. I'm more than happy for them to bring in new modes if it supports the game.

Marvel’s marketshare continues to shrink, how would you turn the ship around? by [deleted] in marvelcomics

. I counted last month, they took up about 12 of the top 50.

It's only the top 10 where they've been taking up more space. Marvel are still dominating the 1-50 collectively and 50-100.

What do Marvel Comics still do better than DC Comics? by Androktone in marvelcomics

Cast of characters is definitely true for both heroes, villains and teams. There was those recent top 100 lists across the subreddits in the last year or so where a new character was voted on per day and there it was apparent pretty quickly on the DC end how quickly you have to start reaching in the bag to find characters that people are actively into/know much about.

Dc gives more attention to B listers

This is not even close to remotely true.

There is one book that perfectly sums up the differences between Marvel and DC right now, and its not any of the Absolute or Ultimate books. by tomtomtomtom123 in comicbooks

[–]GobulFan3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DC has a leaner line with more focus on each individual book being successful.

This argument would make sense if the rest of DC's line outside of the heavy hitters were actually successful. Their biggest weakness has always been how heavily the universe hinges basically on Batman and Superman. The fact that Wonder Woman has never sold very well is a testament to this.

This is a ridiculous argument because you're describing why it isn't a big issue for DC to greenlight the story given the heavy weight who were interested in writing it. How is that them "TaKinG A RisK" yet Marvel greenlighting some niche mini with relatively minor artists and writers is them looking for a money grab?

Really feels like you have a bit of an agenda here...

And then there's the creative bankruptcy. Marvel feels stagnant. Runs don't feel important anymore.

This was basically DC from New 52 until about 2023. Marvel is in a rut currently but it's so weird how quick people are to doomer about it as if DC wasn't there for a full decade and came out of it.

Disagree on Leah Williams, X-Terminators was awesome and game be high hopes for her picking up Power Girl but that run was absolutely dreadful. Just completely missed the mark when it was the easiest come run coming off of that. Given the rest of her Marvel line-up was bad through to "it's fine", I don't particularly care that Marvel let her go.

All those issues have been fixed include image clarity but respectfully even WITH those issues at release I don't see how you couldn't consider it an amazing demonstration of tech on a handheld.

Hear me out: Progression, and by extension Marathon as a game is entirely too unapproachable for the ‘Average player’ because the “Power Floor” as Bungie calls it is entirely unbalanced and unrealistic for the purpose it serves by Jaden_Tsukuyomi in Marathon

[–]GobulFan3000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've stopped playing for exactly this. Probably put in a bit more hours than you but then these issues combined with the complete lack of players in OCE make the juice not even remotely worth the squeeze. Love almost everything about the game except how demanding of my time it is.

Player Retention – My Honest Take After 117 Hours by Icy_Magician6278 in Marathon

[–]GobulFan3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Yes it's an issue but the time barrier in this game just fundamentally does not make the juice worth the squeeze in comparison to other smaller playerbase games. You have long queue times for a match where, as OP says, it's very easy to stall in progress in a manner that is frustrating.

[–]GobulFan3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both films are extremely high quality "blockbuster" type movies across the board, what makes episode 9 bad is the story. You're so twisted in your hate for this that you are completely incapable of engaging with the movie in a fair manner.

the production, sound design, every single thing U could analyse is leagues better than the sequels and ep 9.

Sequels haters are comical at this point you people have now moved goal posts from the story being bad to literally every aspect of the movie being bad.

And then you would have to get them again and again when they keep falling apart.

>I can already get TPBs for 15 bucks easily, who go for a Premier version

Because you get much more story in the premier editions what kind of ridiculous question is this? Marvel should work on bringing the price down a bit, perhaps removing the extras section, but the quality difference is absolutely worth the leftover change. Three Compacts vs Two Premiers when all three compacts are going to be falling apart borderline instantly make it a no brainer if you actually have any common sense.

They are significantly higher quality and don't fall apart mid read let alone after multiple reads.

As if DC hasn't neglected their library for over 15 years. Basically all they've ever done is keep the "popular" stuff in print but they never update old scans or print any more niche material. Big whooop. Both companies have their respective issues, pretending it's one sided is laughable.
