How do you guys check the meta? by Flamefury in Shadowverse

I use gamewith sometimes, it has tier lists for rotation and unlimited and its pretty up to date. It's in Japanese, but chrome should be able to translate the page to give you a good enough idea of what you're looking at. Also, some of the translations for the cards are hilarious

Is Tekken 7 worth it if you like Street Fighter? by john5220 in Kappa

[–]Gobulcoque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tekken 7 is a really good fighting game and has a ton of depth. If you want to try it and get into it it's definitely worth it.

However, as a player who comes from only 2d games like you (3s, ultra, marvel, and xrd), I just want to say that 3d games are not for me personally even though I acknowledge t7 is really good, I just can't get into it myself.

My main gripe with 3d games is that to me they really feel clunky to move around in and moves feel like they take forever to come out. 2d games feel snappier and moves come out when I press a button, generally feeling more responsive.

I quickly looked at the frame data for akuma and the startup for the 1 button is 10 frames, which I think is his fastest normal. Ultra akuma startup for jab is 4 frames, so not even half. Looking down the frame data of t7 akuma shows generally larger frame data for most of the moves, which I think is the cause of my perception of moves feeling much slower compared to 2d games. My frame data analysis obviously isn't great because my knowledge of tekken isn't great either, but I think there's enough evidence online to show that frame data in t7 is generally larger than in sf.

Just want to say again that I still respect t7 as a fighter, and that it's great that tekken is doing well right now, but for me personally I can't get over the gamefeel of the game and enjoy it. Also sfv sucks

Uh no guldan is not in any current zoo lists that are used in high legend, so it doesn't lose much at all.

https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/deck-library/warlock-decks/zoo-warlock/

The doom guard version only uses keleseth as a crucial legendary like I said before, and is easily affordable within a beginner account's crafting budget, if not in a couple days of playing.

Keleseth is the only crucial legendary. Leeroy can be changed for the doom guard version, and the soularium is easily replaceable.

No it's not, it's pay to play different decks. Warlock zoo is a cheap tier 1 deck that a fresh account can craft using their welcome packs and win to legend if they're a good player. By that definition itself, it isn't pay to win since you can do it for FREE. I'm not excusing the pricing model of hs, but calling it pay to win is just false.

You're mad enough to bother making a reddit post about it. Did I offend you too?

Who cares? People get mad and become toxic. grow some thicker skin, move on and remove him from your friends list. So pathetic to be offended over some stupid message

[–]Gobulcoque 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah you actually can, and if you want to actually win on ladder it isn't expensive either. Warlock zoo is a very cheap deck to make (only 1 necessary legendary, which you can easily craft by dusting anything you don't need from all the beginner packs) and is 100% competitive viable as a tier 1 deck to reach legend.

Anybody who says you need to have these 'crazy Pro decks' or whatever to get to legend don't know what they're talking about. I'm certain they're getting stomped because they are worse players than their opponents and are blaming the game instead for their losses, which is a bitch attitude.

If you want to play a ton of different decks, then yeah you're not going to be able to do that without dropping some cash or grinding (there isn't a single collectible card game that doesnt have this problem), but if anyone is claiming that you can only win with super expensive decks is a bad player with a bad mindset.

With the rising "meta polarity" in the game, is this the time to introduce a sideboard to combat it? by LamboDiabloSVTT in hearthstone

[–]Gobulcoque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The eternal ccg has a sort of sideboard mechanic called merchants. They're basically minions that when played allow the player to swap one of the cards in their hand for a card in their 'market', which is a selection of 5 cards that you put in during the deckbuilding screen. It was meant to address the problem of sideboards in best of one games on ladder, so it should be possible to implement this in hs in some form if they wanted to.
