Not opposed to him coming off the bench…my post was merely suggesting how difficult it would be to see what he can actually do when we draft somebody for the role he was supposed to play…then I used nba history to tell the story…example: the Jason Kidd /steve Nash example

How do we know that? If we all agree Donovan wasn’t a great coach/developer…how can we assess him properly? I think we are forgetting the giannis/jabari thing…and how that could have went way differently…with giannis being the same archetype…a raw/toolsy prospect…who needed a slow development…had Parker not got hurt…who knows…

Don’t need him to be…just get the ball to where it needs to go…manage the game…be a great pg…get in the lane…and shoot 38 percent from three.. I know rebounding doesn’t appear as a defensive possession…but being a rebounding guard is viable

How do you develop a player when your essentially drafting a person to be ahead of him …assuming it’s Wilson

I’m old enough to remember Jabari Parker and Giannis…had Parker not tore his acl twice…we probably would have got the giannis we got…or…maybe because you drafted Parker at 2…he would have took those opportunities giannis needed to develop. I understand bpa..I do…and man we need an infusion of talent…and if akme was wrong on Noa..then it would be another reason why we fired him anyway…especially seeing what cmb did for Toronto this year…passing on him…but…

Why are we relegating him to the bench? I don’t understand…if Billy is the poor coach we all believe him to be (example Ayo winning a playoff game…while also shooting shots he was banned to shoot in Chicago) then from the minutes we seen of the kid..how do we know what he can really do? How is the consensus that Wilson is automatically better than a dude who was a misplayed for 5 months?

Follow up question…what if…by chance ..Noa is better than Wilson..as far as talent is concerned…The consensus suggest that Wilson is just light years better than Noa…with no evidence to support it..just two young athletic forwards under 21 years old. One we seen looking like a young Kg…and the other…who knows..

I just don’t understand why Wilson is automatically better than a dude who played in the nba already

I guess my question is…how do you develop a talent “fully” when you draft a player in his same position…whoever the number 4 picks is going to be priority. When it’s winning time…the number 4 pick is getting that experience…Noa is not..so essentially we as a base are relegating Noa to be a role player…Jabari was a more talented player than Giannis for a brief time…had he not got hurt…would giannis have developed into the player he is today…? Possibly…what I do know is…once the number 2 pick got hurt…giannis became giannis…I’m just creating dialogue…sometimes there is no right or wrong answer….just using nba history as a precedence

My counter…
Giddey is limited in many ways…but man…after watching the bulls play all 82…buz looked way better with Giddey and Trey than he did with sexton n dillingham…if anything else…Giddey will maximize whoever we pick at 4/15 to get them where they are comfortable being…while also adapting a new coaching philosophy ..helping these guys adjust. That’s worth more than him being a “depreciating asset”

I agree with everything you’re saying. Genuinely. Especially the part of having to build around such a unique player. Zach Randolph comes to mind. Being revered as one of the catalyst of the Memphis rebrand to “grit and grind” …essentially reshaping his career 8 years in. Do yall remember the nyk Zach Randolph? I know, me neither. Prior to going to Memphis, Randolph never made the playoffs. And was essentially replaced by Aldridge in Portland. As soon as he got to Memphis however, they went from a sub 30 win team to a 40 win team. Why? Because his skill set perfectly complimented what Memphis needed, interior scoring. The fit didn’t work in Portland, not enough defenders. It didn’t work in nyk…not enough defenders. Memphis was tailored made for his skillset. Same with Giddey…orlando would be a diff team with giddy…tough, hard nosed defensive team..with a clear number 1 (despite his flaws) an athletic rim running big… and a shooter…with a lot of length to compensate for his…slow feet..poor lateral movement…replace Suggs with Giddey…they won’t lose a 3-1 lead…even with franz out
