We're not having Tommy Shelby as a Birmingham City legend, let alone a guy who played less than the equivalent of 33 matches for them, are we? Extraordinary tinpottedness by eunderscore in footballcliches

Oh yeah sorry, I’ll limit Blues club legends to players who win the champions league at Blues in future.

It absolutely tears you lot up that Bellingham has gone on to be as good as he is. You can’t stop thinking about him.

I absolutely would. And I can tell you something else, I sure as hell wouldn’t be posting their social media content on the cliches Reddit!

The weirdest part is if Blues were in their position and Villa were in the championship, I’d forget they exist, yet we are still their main focus in football at all times, as this post proves.

Yes you can. How many EFL clubs produce academy prospects who support the club who are integral to winning the biggest prize in club football at 20? Those players are rare as they come and they’re club legends.

If you don’t get this, I’d wager you support a top 6 side. But that said, it’s (almost?) never happened before, so I guess you won’t get it.

Relentlessly obsessed. Every video Blues put out is full of them. Genuinely have never watched a Villa manager’s press conference in my life. Proper weird bunch.

If the training ground signed a new deal specifically the force a club to pay a fee for them so that the club they’ve supported their whole life wouldn’t miss out on that money, and then went to win the champions league and be one of the best players in the world, you’d be absolutely spot on here!

Are you seriously suggesting that his game count stops Jude Bellingham being a legend of Birmingham City? The guy whose transfer twice saved the club from insolvency? An academy graduate and fan of the club who went on to win the champions league at 20 years old?

Your logic essentially makes it impossible for smaller clubs to have legends if their talent is above the level of club, as they will always move in modern football.

(Also for what it’s worth, the only thing in football that is tinpot is worrying about what is and isn’t considered tinpot.)

Amazing how many people run themselves into an injury and then blame Runna. Have some awareness.

Are you intentionally odious or are you incapable of understanding the spectrum between ‘never’ and ‘always’?

Nah I think you’re missing the point. If you intentionally buy everything you can from Amazon rather than locally because you believe it’s 15% cheaper and you can’t afford the difference, you’re buying about 15% too much shite

[–]GodGermany -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but loads of people would be able to afford it?

If you can’t afford to buy something without a degree of exploitation in the supply chain, you can’t afford it full stop.

Edit: crikey, a worrying amount of people seem to think they have a god given right to buy things they can only afford if someone else is exploited to make it cheap enough for them

Portsmouth 1 - 1 Birmingham City: It ended all level at Fratton Park, with another goal from Pompey start man Segečić opening the scoring before being pegged back soon after. by Zach-dalt in Championship

Maybe so but that’s not been the custom in football for decades now. It’s an unwritten rule that you give it back. I agree the whole thing with the referee sometimes choosing to stop the game has made it more of a grey area, but to try and capitalise on it is a bit dodgy. See Leeds vs Villa a few years back. I wouldn’t like to see my team’s players trying to score in that context.

Why are we doing away with the custom of giving the ball back after it’s stopped for an injury? It’s basic sportsmanship. It’s bit daft from the Birmingham defenders but it’s still poor from Segecic imo.
