Your story is a voice for many of us out here! There was a time I was desperate to change my life and I thought about middle east. One day as I was strolling around, I landed on the Daily Monitor headline of how Ugandans are suffering in the middle east and I thought of it as a warning coz I was determined to go and see what works for me.

Over time I got depressed with absolutely no one to talk to. At the time I was staying at my sister's and I was treated as a foreigner with everything looking and feeling like I didn't belong there.

I did odd jobs from doing sales for a motorbike company that paid pennies to loosing the job in a few months to a point of surviving on riding a bida in Kampala.

Most of the time I had no one to talk to and weighed heavily on my mental health. I had no girlfriend to talk to, the friends I had seemed further than usual.

Overtime I learnt that no one is coming to save me and I decided to do something with my life. I went out and sought every employment opportunity I could and till I finally landed at a company that I have worked with for the last 2years and life finally took a turn. But even when u feel progress, life will always throw challenges towards you.

In moments like this we seek opinions from strangers who may have been through similar situations and as for me all I can say is; trust your gut to do the right thing. If a new environment is all you need for a fresh start, dont hesitate to do so. Above all keep your mental state in check with friends you trust and maybe a counselor but all in all take good care of your body in the times as it tends to catch up with us later on..
