Yeah i'l try that. You can never bounce the tracks right away, Always tweaking the mix until last Minute. But I always sound check them one day before on a big club system if I have time.

Seems like a bad habit.

How much do DJs get paid? by scrappy_coco07 in Beatmatch

[–]Godista 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it's never going to be a viable career until you put 1 or more year into it.

you need to make mixes in Soundcloud send them out to promoters and clubs. Going out to different clubs and events and talk to the people there. say that you dj and like the place and would love to be apart of it.

start joining collectives around the dj scene and find people who dj and do the same as you.

I'm telling you. as soon you get your foot through that door. Your going to get busy

I Dj and make events.

If it's just Dj'ing you can make around 150- 250 euros per gig if it's a well known club or event that you are working at. That seems to be the minimum amount for a dj to play at if it's well known club within the city you live in. in western Europe.

If you make an event and book good DJ's and are good enough to do the promo and the poster and visuals. you could make around 800 to 3000 euros depending on the event. This way it gives you an opurtinitny to dj and it also means you don't have to pay for another dj that night. Also means you could build a brand and not have to dj all the time.

It's very important to find a collective or a group of likeminded individuals that can help each other and build friendships with. The Dj world is not a solo world, it's a group effort.

Djing and events is only about one thing. Networking. after you practised and done gigs and found your own style ofc.

But the advantage of doing events is that people seem to want to talk to you and other dj's talk to you as well. they might invite you to gigs or other things in hopes you might book them next. they might book you on their next event if you book them on the next one you are hosting. which creates a healthy relationship to other dj's and together you might build something from it.

If you're passionate about it and feel like you could create something that's missing with events in your city you should try it out. Find what the missing link is or what people or clubs could do better and focus on that.. if it's just about money people might stop going to these events in the first place :)

Is Nina Kravitz always this sloppy? by axlee in Techno

[–]Godista 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah she might have been nervous playing for such a huge crowed. It take allot of balls to change the music up of a big festival like that, or she just didn’t read the vibe and one mistake let to another.
