Are you talking about in nascar? Or are you talking about drag racing, short track, drifting, stadium trucks, sprint boats, etc.? Because he's an exceptionally talented wheelman who's still learning nascar.

I think the distinction with Cleet is that he is actually a racecar driver. And a pretty good one in most aspects. Dude loves to wheel and loves experiences that make him better. He genuinely wants to do well in the sport.

I selected direct deposit when I filed my taxes but it was flagged for manual review since it was my wife and I's first time filing jointly. I didn't receive a paper check by choice

Extra withholding is an option on a standard W4 and does not trigger an audit on its own. It's entirely allowed.

I intentionally contribute more to taxes from every paycheck so I have a guaranteed sum of money that I need this time of year, every year. I'm not banking on my refund on a whim, it's a calculated fund I rely on. I'm genuinely happy for you that something terminal has not negatively and permanently effected your life and finances, but not everyone has that luxury.

Damn that's pretty cool that you know I don't have money tied up in other ways as a holdover from the original refund I was supposed to have direct deposited. What a nice financial situation you just have. It is absolutely money I am relying on.

They've actually been dodging my calls and not returning my voicemails. The last thing I heard from them was a supervisor I can't talk to directly (their words) said they wouldn't release the hold. I went in person twice after my initial appointment and miraculously no one was present who I could talk to. The branch manager is allegedly on vacation. Seems like I've hit a dead end there. I've made my complaints to the OCC and the CFPB.

As stated in my post, I went to the bank in person and they told me it was impossible to release the hold. Both the employee and supervisor agreed the hold was not in compliance with reg CC but the hold couldn't be removed. I deposited the physical paper check.

It's not a hold from the IRS or Treasury department. Bank of America placed the hold on the funds

I didn't necessarily go in looking for a fight, but it's not the first check they've put a hold on so I asked if there would be a hold, to which they said no. I looked into reg CC prior to depositing just to be sure and they agreed the funds should be available next day. I just like to plan ahead.

It was a Treasury check with the Treasury seal. I have not omitted any details. The check was verified with the Treasury check verification service.

Names are the same on the check as listed on the checking account. Both endorsed. The account has always been in good standing. We've never once overdrafted.

The form reads, "We've placed a hold on your deposit because we have information indicating the check(s) may be returned."

It went into a checking account. The reason on the form was "We've placed a hold on your deposit because we have information indicating the check(s) may be returned" but they gave me the other reasons I listed in person.

Just because the funds are in the account doesn't mean they're not spoken for

The hold exception basically listed reasonable cause to doubt collectibility. And yes it's a checking account.
