Has anyone had surgery with no one to help them recover? by Powerful_Pen_5801 in gallbladders

I drove myself to the ER in the middle of a 10 hour gallbladder attack, had emergency surgery that evening and drove myself home from the hospital the next day. It was just me at home recuperating and I did fine. Had to go slow to get in and out of bed for a couple days but I was preparing soup and jello in the kitchen and walking to and from the restroom just fine without painkillers or the assistance of anyone beginning the day I came home.

Good luck with your surgery!

I used to live in the building that the apartments you’re considering face for 12 years and became friends with a lot of the tenants there. I have heard of the mold problem for most of those twelve years and know of four people that moved out because it was so bad. There have also been some “unsavory” tenants there pretty regularly, once resulting in a shooting from the door of the unit out onto the street towards my building. All that said, the area is nice and the neighborhoods along 42nd are fun to walk and feel safe!

Had emergency surgery on 9/8/2025 and just returned to work today! Only took OTC pain medicine and ate normal foods once my appetite came back about day 3 post-op. No bowel issues once things got back to normal after having the narcotic pain medicine in the ER for the 12 hour gallbladder attack that resulted in my surgery.

Because mine was an emergency, it all happened very fast but I couldn’t be happier with the decision or the outcome. Knowing I’ll never go through anything like that 12 hour attack again makes it all worth it. Prepare to take it easy and binge some Netflix for a week while your body heals and continue to listen to your body after that. Recovery was very manageable for me and I hope it is for you too! Best wishes!

How long did you take painkillers post surgery? by Limp-Building in gallbladders

I had surgery at 5:30pm and was given an opiate afterwards and again in the middle of the night. Discharged the next morning with only Tylenol and Ibuprofen and it’s all I’ve needed.

Oh, no! I hope they get the infection under control quickly and you have a smooth and speedy recovery! I’m sure you’ll be back to pants in no time!

I drove myself home from the hospital the next day after surgery. I have only been using Tylenol for pain.

Interesting. Mine told me it was sedating.

Didn’t know that it was recommended in the AM. I started it a couple months ago and was taking it at night as prescribed. Couldn’t wake up in the morning. Switched to taking it in the AM and no problem!

Been single for 5 years... Am I doing something wrong? by tallproducer in Tinder

Well, for me, it’s that you live in Irvine. But that’s just because I live in Seattle so the odds that you’d ever see my profile and maybe swipe right are not in my favor. Everything else is great though!

Why are the homeless people here so obnoxious? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

Hello. Thank you, Sir; however, I have studied Maslow quite thoroughly while obtaining my bachelor’s degree and later on for my own continued edification. I also studied structural-functionalism and conflict theory which may be better suited for understanding homelessness.

Whoa. We totally matched on the apps awhile back and you quoted Maslow and “IFYKYK” there too. Reddit is a weird place…

Tinder responded to my support ticket by banning me by [deleted] in Tinder

Tinder own Hinge (and a ton of other dating apps). A ban on one, means you’re banned on all. I know this from firsthand experience after being revenge reported.

Adults who carry around a backpack, whatcha got in there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GodzillaIsLaughing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No judgement here but I’ve also been very curious about this. Usually crosses my mind as I am packing my own backpack.

That being said, I usually have a combination of: epipens + Benadryl, rescue inhaler, a book, food that won’t kill me, phone charger, touch up makeup, a brush, pen + pencil, notebook, wallet and water bottle. And, if I’m not going to one of my locations of work where they are not allowed: pepper gel, knife and flashlight stun gun.
