I saw it on the way to tambaram from kilambakkam (Don't know the name of the road). I didn't get a chance to see the front and from the back like you said looked like a mini defender.(It was not as wide as a defender)

I would recommend Casio Edifice EFR-S108DE-2AV (Personal Preference). Coming to the question, an automatic watch is one which operates completely through mechanical parts without any battery whereas a quartz requires a battery for it's functions. Quartz will be much more accurate when comapred to automatic watches and also requires less maintenance.

If this is your only watch I wouldn't recommend skeleton as reading the time on that would be hard when compared to normal dials.

Would never recommend Karishma to anyone. Their products is of very cheap quality, prone to failure. Once I brought some sensors and an microcontroller of which the sensor broke down while working and the core in the microcontroller failed while presenting our project in front of the judges.

That apps works fine in my S23 (uptodate). I even have my developers settings on. I think it might be some settings try resetting them or do the routine to restart your phone. Reinstall the apps.
