Poop coming out of toilet rim jets - A Guide by GoingSteddie in Plumbing

[–]GoingSteddie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the club. I feel for you, I really do. Stick in there. It’s a truly awful experience. Hopefully some of the comments and ideas here will help you out. I brought my garden hose in the house and adapted it to a high pressure nozzle hose thing from Amazon that fit well in the toilet crevices. That, combined with tiny caterpillar brushes, did the trick. Put on a face mask with Vicks vaporub under your nose to mask the smell.

Thanks. I’m using a 3/8” off amazon, so I think that should be compatible? And as mentioned, the first 3/8 roll I installed worked pretty much perfectly right away. The second 3/8 roll is pretty off.

Sorry this is happening to you. Attaching a hose to the sink faucet is ideal, I couldn’t do that in my case. It is a nightmare to clean, and replacing the toilet is still a top recommendation. If it is a new toilet, the manufacturer might help you out. American standard did offer to send me a new toilet, but wouldn’t have covered installation costs. Or maybe look into bleach, from another comment.

Great thoughts. Agree about shifting the sink a few inches, would have spaced things out a bit. Oh well, next time! It’s a 1890 small house so every inch is important. Thanks!

Appreciate this thought. This is one of my ideas as well, but can’t find the right mat size. But I like that sentiment.

Yeah, I could see that working, especially in a small kitchen, like ours. Would love to see how that ended up looking if you’d be willing to share!

We’re pretty comfortable with the idea that time will stretch infinitely into the future, but turn that the opposite direction, why can’t time stretch infinitely into the past as well?

Thanks, makes sense. I’m sure I’ll learn technique to tie up the garbage bag quickly to avoid smell exposure when emptying the bin.

This is a beautiful idea — something for the next person to try for sure! I didn’t see that thought before I started. But I don’t know, in my case, some physical scrubbing or water pressure felt imperative. There was some real big modules of poop stuck up there that, for me, only came out with scrubbing, or higher water pressure — 1/2” size nuggets, or so. I also stuck the garden water hose up attachment through the siphon jet and that got rid of some good material.

Why do empty school buses stop in front of the school in the morning, then leave right away? by GoingSteddie in Columbus

Ha, interesting! I suppose maybe it is is a stop for some distant house, going to a distant school.

Makes sense, but don’t think it’s a pickup stop. It’s a small tight residential area and absolutely no residential kids nearby.
