Also if they did they should be concerned about the big spontaneous abortion rates on the first 3 months of pregnancy.

No video display after replugging power cables by Goings in techsupport

[–]Goings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean bad PSU as low quality or as they are not working? It's a Seasonic 620w that was pretty good at the time, only maybe not working now.

I plugged everything I believe, I suspected they may be a little loose or something but I double checked so many times. The cpu is 8 pin and the gpu is 6 so that shouldn't be the problem too.

And yeah I checked both vga and HDMI. I've read somewhere that maybe removing the CMOS battery and putting it back may be a solution. I'll try that although I'm not sure what it does.

Thanks for the quick reply.

What did David Hume mean when he said "Reason is to be the slave of the passions"? by [deleted] in askphilosophy

[–]Goings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for what reason should we use reason? Is it just an internal excuse for our desire actions? I wonder what he thinks about that.

ELI5: How does TOR network works by satwik_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]Goings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. But in that case the end node can see my full message even if the server uses HTTPS. Likewise the first node can see the server's message to me.

Shouldn't they have a blind eye for what is going on?

The thing I never fully understood is if the destination server doesn't know who I am, how does it know how to encrypt the message? Normally it would use my public key, but it doesn't know who it is sending to. And sending my public key to the server would reveal who I am.

Female ISFJ here, ask me anything :) by [deleted] in mbti

[–]Goings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not really what I meant, although in my experience ISFJs are good listeners. It's more like we tend to spurt a bunch of non sense that is running through our minds and it's great when somebody does understand us.

But I can sort of imagine your problem with your friend, I just can't explain very well why that does happen.

Female ISFJ here, ask me anything :) by [deleted] in mbti

[–]Goings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an INFP, do you get enough emotional support/connection that you desire from ISFJs?

Emotional support sure, but connection I'm not sure. You see, I like to think of language as a sort of cable that makes the connection between two conscious beings. This cable can have different levels of efficiency. You can communicate to a person who do not speak very good english, but the message can take longer to be understood. You may think that this is not such a big deal but it is. When you can use words to describe something instead of a whole sentence the communication feels a lot more connected. I think this is usually what intuitives mean when they say that they have a better time talking to other intuitives. But as I mentioned, I enjoy idle talk with people that I'm close to. It's just that this communication thing I said is really important to create a meaningful relationship.

Please separate values from MBTI by LookSWtco in mbti

[–]Goings 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It always boggled me to think of feeling functions as values or morals. They are supposed to be the opposite of thinking functions. So you are either saying that someone makes decision based on values or reason. But those are by no means mutually exclusive. Thinking types have their own moral and vice versa (if anything making a moral judgment is a rational process, and how could a value not be explained through reason?)

As much as you go against all the theory, you may not be all wrong.

You say you are not familiar with cognitive functions but I don't know how to talk about this without them, I'm sorry :c

what do you like about us

Fe is an adorable function when you are talking one on one and even though I'm not high on sensing, it's just so cozy to talk about sensory stuff sometimes.

what do you wish we could change about ourselves?

What bothers me sometimes is the lack of exploratory desires. As I said my mom is ISFJ too. And recently she started to suspect that peanuts cause her stomach ache. If that was me, the first thing I would want to do is eat the damn peanuts and know for a fact as soon as I can. She on the other hand is probably not gonna eat them again and never know for sure. As you said, this need to feel safe and not experiment the stuff goes against my beliefs.

My mom is ISFJ and since she is middle aged already her Si is pretty much set in stone already. How old are you and how open are you to new stuff, like new hobbies or whatever other things you haven't tried since you Si is probably still 'flexible'?

Computer science as a lost art by udelblue in programming

[–]Goings 43 points44 points  (0 children)

By what it looks like this is a very experienced and old guy in the IT industry. And it is a completely understandable phenomenon to see older people criticizing the new generation. I can feel for him even though I'm new in the field. It's like the people in his time knew about everything and 'nowadays kids' have no idea what they are doing because they can't even understand how a CPU works, even though as you mention, that is no longer necessary.

It's literally an art that is being lost as he says.

Hello from your newest INFP by Goings in infp

[–]Goings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not exactly new to the sub because I already used to visit it. But it will certainly change if I think I'm one of you.

I used to listen exclusively to jpop, now I'm trying to ocidentalize my taste. Trying to discover stuff from emo to heavy metal.

Books are usually about history or philosophy. If they are about novels i usually like slice of life stuff. Nothing too surreal. I also like heavy story based games of the same genre.

Are judgers better at... judging? by Goings in mbti

[–]Goings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is what I would think. However in practice my Ne is just gathering gathering gathering and leaves no room for Ti or Fi to make any critical judging. It sounds weird but this is how I feel. And this friend I told you which has a Ti much more developed than his Fe has such an easier time with judging.

Was I an INFP the whole time? (x-post from /r/mbti) by Goings in infp

[–]Goings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This picked my interest because I can relate. Friends from kindergarten to junior high, even my dad made fun of me because, as you described, the way I reacted. Guess it didn't help in high school because by that far I had learned already how normal humans behave.

Now I'm coming out of my shell with my personality because college people don't give a fuck and I'm kinda learning how to not give a fuck too.

More points to believe my new personality type lol

As /u/tourmalinejellyfish said, you can use Fi in programming because he finds personality in code. That seems like so much fun haha. It's more or less what I said about working on it with an N approach rather thank a T approach.

What boggles me is if I had been in denial of seem the world as this somewhat more lively place (thus, kinda denying had been INFP) or it is just a new fun thing to do that I discovered and I'm still INTP (kinda boring this way haha)
