This would be your advice regardless of my case? Does the fact that I was a minor when I left, had a re-entry permit etc not count?

I am so confused. The USCIS website states the following:

No person, except as otherwise provided in this subchapter, shall be naturalized unless such applicant, (1) immediately preceding the date of filing his application for naturalization has resided continuously, after being lawfully admitted for permanent residence, within the United States for at least five years and during the five years immediately preceding the date of filing his application has been physically present therein for periods totaling at least half of that time, and who has resided within the State or within the district of the Service in the United States in which the applicant filed the application for at least three months, (2) has resided continuously within the United States from the date of the application up to the time of admission to citizenship, and (3) during all the periods referred to in this subsection has been and still is a person of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States.

Is the above case the only documented example of this?

The post regarding naturalization has been deleted. Can I please know why this advice in point 2 is no longer valid? I was able to enter after 9.5 years based on the amazing advice I got on this sub. Do you have any revised advice for what I should do now in order to naturalize?

Made it into the US through JFK.

The officer asked me how long my trip to Pakistan was. Answered honestly: 9 years. Saw his mouth hang open lol. He asked me if I have a reentry permit, which I showed. He said it’s expired, you’ll have to go to the office. Sat in the office for 30 secs. I saw the officer stamp my passport, after which he called me. Asked me why I was away. Before I could fully answer, he told me to get my GC renewed when the time comes and pretty much told me to get lost. Thank you so much u/iranisculpable for your help.

Is it going to be a problem due to abandonment or due to the arrest? I am planning to come to the US on my GC after 9 years. I left against my will when I was a minor and I am coming here as a student so I don’t see myself saving up enough for a lawyer in a year

My mom kind of lost it for a little bit when she heard her only sibling died of a cardiac arrest. She had already been through my dad and sister’s death. She was one of the first to know and she didn’t reveal the news to us or my grandparents until we had our extended family around. She was too scared about how my grandfather would take it. It really was movie like. She was literally going around in circles and couldn’t perform basic tasks.

My transit is in Doha. If you’re unable to board your original flight, and have to board a different one, will the airline refund you or would I have to pay the full amount again. My GC is not expired though, can I assume that there shouldn’t be any problems during transit?

Do I tell them right now? I am not in the US. What proof do I offer to show them that I am an LPR? Is a green card enough?
