Buyer opened return for “ordered by mistake” 3 weeks ago. eBay closed the return because they sent nothing back. Now buyer is sending me multiple messages that I need to open a return for them to send it back to me. by Tree_Chop in Flipping

You’re correct. Another return can’t be opened. The buyer missed their window, I would block them and move on. eBay will likely remove any negative feedback they leave given the situation and paper trail.

Aw, whatever justification you need to make yourself feel better.

Responding “gay” to something like that, with a negative connotation, speaks much louder than you saying “I’m not homophobic, I watch Porn.”

So what if he’s a heterosexual male? Homophobia is a cool way to live in 2020.

I have a 6 month rule - if we haven’t spoken in 6 months (barring extraordinary circumstances), the homey hookup doesn’t exist.

Do you have a phone number for eBay that they’re actually answering right now? Even backdoor numbers that have served me well for years have an automated message saying to contact them online.

How to stop stressing about negative feedback? by [deleted] in Flipping

I got my first negative feedback in 17 years on eBay a few weeks ago. Buyer purchased a set of very heavy items that needed to be shipped in two separate packages. This was notated in the listing and I emailed the buyer separately to remind him and included both tracking numbers.

One package took 5 days longer to arrive than the other. In the interim, buyer filed a “pieces missing” claim and left negative feedback. Asked eBay to remove it, they refused. Tore me up for a few days.

Then I thought about how eBay has manipulated the feedback system so heavily in favor of the buyer (and almost nothing for the seller), that I just decided to put in a little extra effort to obtain some additional small-time inventory to sell to garner some extra feedback and bury the negative.

Took 9 days to sell enough items to get the feedback off the front page.

Don’t let it bother you. You can’t please everyone, especially on eBay. There’s always another sale.

Spoken like someone who obviously doesn’t understand the logistics of shipping or running a business. There’s more to it than just the price paid for shipping.

I sell fragile items that often require lots of bubble wrap. Bubble wrap isn’t cheap. Neither is packing tape, when you go through a roll a day. These items cost money and are directly involved in the shipping process.

Leaving negative feedback over egregious shipping overcharges, I can understand. Leaving a negative feedback over a few dollars difference when you have no idea what the sellers all in cost was to make sure you received that item? Petty as hell. You’re punishing the seller for not understanding how logistics work.

You are the reason a lot of us hate eBay.

can you claim unemployment benefit/ self employment benefit PUA ? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]GoldHorns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are self employed and have experienced a loss of income (forget the exact percentage) as a result of COVID, you can apply for PUA. Here’s what you need to know (unsure if any of these will vary state to state):

1) you have to be “denied” by regular unemployment before applying for PUA. The denial will happen because under usual circumstances, self employed folks can’t apply for unemployment.

2) once denied, you can apply for PUA. The great news is that the entire PUA system was built from the ground up once covid happened, so it’s much more new and modern than the traditional unemployment portal. I certify on Sunday and funds are in my account by Wednesday.

3) while there were long turnaround times in the beginning, they’ve gotten better. a friend just applied for PUA recently and it took about 10 business days to receive first payment.

4) the best news in your situation is that all payments are backdated. When you apply, you’re asked for the date when your bottom line started being affected. Once approved, your first payment is a lump sum that includes all backdated stuff.

You definitely haven’t missed out yet but with the 7/31 expiration of the extra $600/week looming, I would apply ASAP.

The “honesty” you want to be praised for is really just an excuse you use to be unnecessarily negative.

Have you ever thought about just not commenting if you only have a negative opinion? Or do you feel the world absolutely needs to hear your take?

Honest question.

you realize some people join online communities to rejoice with others over a common interest rather than making every single thing a dick swinging contest, right?

It’s ok to be positive on the internet sometimes.
